DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SCHOOL MUM // THE POLYTUNNEL BLEW AWAY!

Good morning everybody, I'm doing a vlog from home today. Look at the state of my hair. It's because I went to the allotment this morning to check the aftermath from the storm and I'm afraid to say the polytunnel did not survive. When I got to the plot, I wish I had taken my camera as well because it was just hysterical, I got to the plot and it was just gone and I was like where the hell is it? And then I searched the whole allotment and it had blown over onto my neighbour's allotment and got stuck in their apple tree so I was like balancing on this, what are they called, the water holder things that had like a plank on it. I was like balancing on it trying to yank this heavy polytunnel out of this tree and anyway a couple of the beam, the pole things are like bent and snapped in a little bit like so I don't know if it's gonna be salvageable or if I'm gonna have to just buy another one so that's a bit of a shitter for this morning. I did go there the weekend and bloody weigh it down and it still blew away, the bloody thing. I've been really anxious this morning because I've had to go register Alice at her new school, she got a place in our local primary school which is amazing because if you followed me on here for a while you'll know that we've been getting the train to their old school since we moved house which has just not really been ideal and a place finally came up for Alice in year three so I'm moving her schools just after the February half term and fingers crossed that Tommy gets a place soon because he's now number one on the list because he will now have a sibling in the school so fingers crossed that he gets one soon, until then it's going to be all a bit of a juggling act, it's going to be a bit shit to be honest but I'm so thankful that she's got a place, she's been unhappy at her school for a while and I really hope, I love the school, I have such a good feeling about it but I am really anxious about it because I am moving her school and I feel like it's a big deal and I'm just like oh I don't know, I feel anxious for her but I do think in the long run it is just going to be the best thing ever so been a little bit anxious this morning, I'm now waiting for my Sainsbury's shop to come and I'm just going to chill and eat some toast, have a cup of tea, fill out the like 15,000 page application form, how much information do they need these schools but yeah I'm going to fill it out, relax, watch an episode of Grace and Frankie because I'm absolutely obsessed with that show at the moment and yeah wait for my Sainsbury's shop and then I'll take the application form back this afternoon, you didn't need to know all that information, I know you didn't need to know it, here I am ranting off, offloading onto you because this is such just like the best form of therapy is just to chat to a camera and get it all out, you can see I'm anxious because I'm like jumping about like this, it's like I've ants in my pants, I can't keep still, tomorrow also when this vlog is going up will be my birthday so today that you're watching this is my birthday and I'm 32 years old today so maybe that's a bit as why I'm feeling a little bit anxious and a little bit like because I don't really like getting older now, I think when you get into your 30s it's like oh now I'm 32, now I'm gonna be 33 so yeah that's better, guys my Sainsbury's shopping has just arrived, I thought you might like a little nosy at what I've got but I don't want to do like a proper haul because I can't be bothered, I thought I'd just show you a few things that I got, I'm really excited about these crunchy nut clusters, they're the chocolate ones, I haven't had these before but I love crunchy nut and I love chocolate so excited to try those, I like a good breakfast cereal, these cheese and garlic stuffed mushrooms which you roast for 20 minutes, I just thought these were just different, never get anything like this and I do love mushrooms, I might have to do a little bit more, a little bit of re-stuffing because some of the stuffing has come out but they look really nice so I got those, the chicken breast with cheddar cheese, bacon and the lattice, basically I got these because I just want some really quick easy meals this week because I know I'm going to be at the allotment a lot and I'm going to be knackered when I get in and these are just like 25 minutes in the oven you know already done and they're just a bit more exciting I think, I got this one as well which is the pork shoulder hog roast, hog wash, hog roast, that looks really nice, I've got some mashed potato to go with that and some coleslaw as well, is that Alice has been asking to try sprouts, I didn't make sprouts at Christmas because I don't really like them so I bought a little bag of sprouts, just a little one, you can microwave them, I might steam them or something but yeah she's been like on and on at me about wanting to try sprouts so I thought well you can try sprouts maybe we'll do a little sprout eating challenge with her so I thought that was quite sweet that she asked to try them. A proper proper proper clean of my house, I'm going to show you because it's been a long time since I've done like a proper clean of my house because I've been so obsessed with the allotment and so look in here it's all put away cut everything's been hoovered and then the table is actually clear apart from some plants and then I'll show you upstairs because my kids room was an absolute abomination it was like a bomber gone off in there and I properly cleaned everything cleaned all the clothes so this is the kids room okay it probably doesn't look oh focus focus it probably doesn't look that clean uh because there's still stuff everywhere but it's all been hoovered all the sides have been wiped down the beds have been made and sorted and then in here look like all the clothes are like folded away properly so there's not you know piles of clothes in there and stuff so it feels really good in here it smells really fresh I'll show you my plants because they have started growing um sorry for spinning you so much so the peas are coming up these are peas these probably would have survived outside maybe not in the storm um but yeah so they're coming up these are rooted now so I'm waiting for those to come up I've got a little cucumber here just starting to show its face these are not doing anything sweet peas not doing anything and the peppers are not doing anything so uh fingers crossed but the cosmos downstairs I showed you earlier my little montage they are coming up so that's good um I can see the wind picking up it's really windy out there oh my god I didn't you know what you're gonna think I'm so stupid but I didn't actually tie the um polytunnel down when I went there this morning I just kind of rescued it and threw it on the ground in a bit of a huff shit I better go down there and actually um put something heavy on it I bet it's thrown away again oh for ****'s sake why has it done this I was so happy when I got it it's like a massacre here jesus didn't do too well in the storm oh christ I just gutted you can see where it's bent um this one here snapped that diagonal one is snapped the top is now wonky it might be salvageable I don't know we'll see if they can do something with it and help me to fix it ah well there we go 2019 which catholic leader was offered a million dollars to go vegan for something wicked this way comes as a quote from what shakespeare played knowing people in senior positions is to have friends in high places heart and brie is crab soup for what comes from the uk oh you don't have a clue mate just like we don't have a clue no one knows that information you've got one right yeah I'll be out I'd have been caught by the chaser right guys I've put Tommy to bed now um Alice is still up playing her ipad for a bit I need um and make my dinner as well so I'm gonna leave it there today tonight today oh god I can't believe my polytunnel flew away I'm a bit gutted about that but um you'll be watching this on my birthday or maybe the day after I don't know when I can get it edited um but Tuesday the 11th of Feb is my birthday and I'm getting a shed which I'm so excited about and hopefully that won't be able to fly away from the plot so that's a good thing isn't it so I hope you all have a lovely week and I will see you in my next vlog thanks for watching guys bye
