Hi everybody!
Today's recipe is pa-sanjeok.
Green onion pancake duos.
I'm going to use large green onion.
You see?
Daepa.
These days, so during the winter time, very very delicious, sweet, very sweet and tender.
If this is not available, of course you can use regular green onion like this.
And this is my late father's favorite.
So, my mom's specialty.
Since I was young, I saw, I watched my mom making, and even together with my father,
they always make this on special occasions.
Ingredients are so simple.
Cut off these roots.
And usually this part is kind of too tough, so remove this outer skin.
And then I'm going to remove this part.
So this is good, nice.
And...
Clean.
And, so I'm going to bring my beef.
8 ounces.
And slice this.
Around 5 inches long.
With just the back of my knife blade, and like just tapping.
A little spread this, and also when I marinate with the seasoning, it will be more delicious.
I made these 10 strips.
I'm going to make these 5 skewers.
Each one, 2 beef pieces.
And then, garlic.
Just chopped green onion.
This is small.
Small sized chopped green onion.
This is 1 clove of garlic.
I already pre-minced.
And then, green onion.
Sugar, 1 teaspoon.
Soy sauce, 2 teaspoons.
Ground black pepper.
And sesame oil, 2 teaspoons.
And then when I mix this, I gotta use my hand.
Oh wow, smells good.
Okay.
So I'm going to skewer later with this green onion.
And then, carrot is very hard and not easy to cook.
Because I need to slice this like almost the same size of beef.
The beef is around 5 inches.
And I'm going to cut off this around 4 inches.
So that when I cook this, beef is going to shrink.
So try to make it almost the same size.
So I make these 5 pa-san-jeot.
And this one, I need 10 strips.
But it's not going to be cooked easily.
So I'm going to quickly steam this using my microwave oven.
I peeled and washed.
This is 4 inches long and then around half inch thick.
And I need this 10.
10.
So 10 strips.
I'm going to microwave for maybe around 1 minute.
This carrot, don't throw away.
You can chop it up, add to your stir-fried rice and any vegetable dishes.
It is slightly cooked so that I can skewer easily.
Carrot size.
This is too thick, so I'm going to cut it in half.
Like this.
So just in case you guys are using small green onion, I will show you.
These are wooden skewers.
6 inch wooden skewers.
Carrot.
Again, green onion.
So pretty!
What's going on? Why is this so big?
No problem. Like this.
And again, green onion.
Nice!
I'm going to sprinkle some salt.
Just around a quarter teaspoon is enough for 5 skewers.
Green onion, you know? Near green onion.
And then I'm going to use flour.
Like this.
Coat with flour.
And do this other side.
Okay, the other side.
I can do with a quarter cup flour.
Tap, tap, tap!
So I'm going to use 3 eggs for 5 skewers.
Egg mixture is very even.
I will use my large skillet, 2 large skillets.
Medium heat.
This guy is also medium heat.
It's a non-stick pan.
When I make mung bean pancake or a large amount of pancake,
I usually use 2, sometimes 3 skillets.
So I can cook quickly.
Okay, now my pan is heated.
So I'm going to add some oil here.
One, two...
Let's cook!
Like this.
Smells already really good!
Exciting!
So around 2 minutes later, I'm going to turn over.
This is low heat, medium low.
So it's not going to be burnt.
Nice, gorgeous!
For my last one, I make 5.
So, last one.
Leftover egg mixture.
I will turn up the heat a little bit.
Because green onion should be cooked.
Add more oil.
Make it crunchy.
Green onion is soft.
That means it's all cooked.
Oh my, looks so good!
Looks yummy!
Small green onion is easily you can cook.
Already cooked.
And beef is cooked.
Here you go.
This one is the last one I made.
So it has to be cooked.
Gorgeous.
You see?
All well cooked.
Pasanjeot!
So hot!
Pasanjeot is done!
So we need some dipping sauce.
Just green onion, half green onion.
1 tablespoon soy sauce.
Vinegar, 1 tablespoon.
Green onion.
Sesame seeds.
Toasted sesame seeds.
How beautiful, colorful it is!
Like this.
Green onion.
First, sauce.
Mmm!
Beef, big chunk of beef.
Carrot cooked this way, so good!
Mmm!
When I was young, I used to live in Ireland.
Southern part of Korea.
With my mom.
And my father was living in the harbor city.
So once in a while,
he came to visit us.
Before he came,
my house was so festive mood.
My mom was so happy
and she was making pasanjeot.
Preparing this pasanjeot.
Sometimes they made together also.
Because this is my father's favorite.
I have a lot of emotions around this dish.
