The Kansas City Chiefs are a professional American football team that are based in Kansas City, Missouri. The Chiefs are a team in the American Football Conference (AFC) West division and compete in the National Football League (NFL).

After the Green Bay Packers, The Chiefs were the second team to play in more than one Super Bowl and became the first team to appear in the national championship in two decades.
The team struggled to compete in the playoffs for decades, and from 1993 to 2017 they lost ten of eleven playoff games, despite the early postseason success and winning five of its first six postseason games.
Following that, the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV in 2020, winning eight of their final eleven postseason games, with quarterback Patrick Mahomes was voted MVP.

The team competed for Super Bowl LV in February 2021 but fell to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. About two years later, in 2023, the Chiefs won Super Bowl LVII, with Patrick Mahomes getting his second Super Bowl MVP award.
