Plants Pets & Nurseries! 2 Week Vlog!
How I Set Up My Growspace

This week’s vlog is combination of two-week’s worth of vlogs. I did my best to make it flow but left a few things in so the separation of the vlogs would also show. I spent a lot of time with my plants and pets over the last couple of weeks. With the cold weather approaching I am focused on preparing my plants and garden for winter. My tropical plants and my houseplants are about ready to go inside the house for a fun 6 months of indoor gardening! Repotting houseplants is something I try to avoid doing this time of year, but with plants that I know will need the extra room in their pots to stay properly hydrated I go ahead and pot them up. So far, I have repotted some alocasia (alocasia plumbae ‘metallica’) alocasia luteas, a Norfolk Island Pine and an Aphelandra, all the other plants look fine for winter except for some Ti plants (cordyline fruticosa) that will be potted up in the next vlog. After visiting multiple nurseries in the last two weeks I did have a slight plant haul, but it was all spread out in the vlog. The new mum is gorgeous, the ferns and heuchera will look great this winter and I’m clearly obsessed with the Teddy Bear Magnolia tree. There were a few updates with my plants from the last garden tour / plant tour, mostly because I forgot to update about my fiddle leaf fig (ficus lyrata) and some other things like, hibiscus flowers and some blooms on the butterfly ginger. While pulling annuals from the planters I decided to hold onto one of my Persian shield plants so I can have a go at growing Persian shield indoors. I have kept them in the winter when leaving them underplanted in the areca palm pots before and they grew wonderfully without needing attention. I always would end up pulling them though because they got in the way of path in the growspace. Let me know suggestions for products to unbox and review! Oh, and do you want an alocasia video?
