(Bundesliga 2022/2023): Highlights Wolfsburg - Leipzig

A day for Leipzig comebacks. Billy Orban after donating stem cells, Christopher Nkunku on the bench after 98 days out with a knee injury. As a team, Leipzig needed to bounce back from the previous week's 2-1 home loss at the hands of title rivals Union Berlin. Emil Forsberg one of four team changes made by coach Marco Rosa. 14 minutes in and the coach's faith in the Swede was repaid. A simply delicious volley. Forsberg's third goal of the Bundesliga season and Leipzig back in their groove after two games winless in the Bundesliga. In his 50th Bundesliga match, Dominik Sebasle almost marked the occasion with a stunning free kick. The shot just grazing the outside of Kuhn-Castell's goal. Forsberg's spectacular volley the half-time difference. After a half, a very few real talking points. The second half saw the return of last season's Bundesliga player of the season, Nkunku, who soon made his mark. On the field for just 60 minutes when he found Konrad Leimer, who doubled the Leipzig lead from a tight angle after 85 minutes. Leimer's first goal in the Bundesliga for some 10 months. Into added time and the outstanding Sebasle made certain Leipzig were home and dry. A bludgeoned third goal out of sorts. Forsberg simply blown away as Leipzig bounced back after their two-game mini blip. Marko Rozes, Leipzig, the only team in the top five not to win last weekend. But this has them right back into title contention.
