Hi, I'm Morgan Freeman, and today I'm going to share the story of how Steven,
Jess, and the Grin series drove six hours through the harsh cold of Canada to get to a Tim Hortons.
Yes, you heard that right. Six hours to get some Timmies.
Our story begins on the morning of Boxing Day 2017.
Oh yes, the best way
to start. Are you installing a Christmas present right now? I'm rocking my Star Wars headphones.
Best way to start Boxing Day. If anyone knows, this is a fun fact about Steve,
he loves to eat frozen mince pies for Christmas. They have to be frozen, not cooked, frozen.
We've decided that Boxing Day is now the official cheese and board game day.
Is there anything in there, Bailey? How does this work?
You just open it up. Oh, whoa. Is it yummy or not very good? It's yummy.
First round of telestrations. It is my new favorite board game. Are you ready? My word
was king size. It was really hard. All right, so Steve and Drew. Oh yeah. King size, that's
pretty good. Did Hayden guess this? Hayden guessed king plug. King and a plug. And Emma guessed king
mine was Wolverine. Oh wow. That did not come to me. Oh, that's good.
Emma guessed Wolverine. Oh yay. That was my Wolverine Steve. Oh, I'm sorry. Why did he
have circles around him? Oh no. What is this Hayden? Oh wow. Let's see what Hayden drew for
that. That's pretty good. I'll give you that. Is that a pet shirt?
It's insane that a little sleep in can mean like the day is gone. Like it's four o'clock.
Sun is set, but I can hear some singing going on down here. I hear singing coming on.
I thought it was Bailey doing coloring in. Bailey, it was you singing wasn't it? Yeah. What?
Who was it? Ariel. You seen her? Yeah. Oh yeah. That's where Ariel lives. But didn't we get this
for the girls? This looks like a lit boxing day. We've got coloring on the floor, empty hot
chocolates, babies sleeping while Netflix is running. It's cold. It's cold. It's negative 10
degrees right now. We've come out. So it's the first time we've actually left the house on
boxing day. It's been so nice and relaxing, but we've come out. If you guys saw the other time,
we went to this place for lunch and now we're making our way through all the Kinemat restaurants.
This is the date night spot. This is Beck and Paul's date night spot. So they're like,
let's go out for boxing day. It's Mr. Mike's Steakhouse and they're open because they don't
really celebrate boxing day here in Canada and America. So in Australia, this place would not
be open, but let's go check it out. I'm getting cold. Oh, it's nice and cozy in here.
Okay. Date night looks like it's going to be a success. We have some fish tacos,
which look so amazing and some fish as well. It looks good. We should do a cheers
for Christmas date night and Christmas being a success.
Bailey, where are we going? To a house. To a house. And what are we doing there?
Sledding. Sledding. Wait, are we actually going sledding? We're going in a horse sled.
Did it snow last night? That's pretty good. Do you want to have a look at yours,
Candy? Wow. You guys did good snow angels. Is this the girls road trip car? Is this the
girls car? Yeah. Yeah. We're going to go hang out in the cool boys road trip car. Say see you in
three hours. See you in three hours. Bye. Bye. So today we are leaving Kitimat. I'm going on
a bit of an adventure. We're going to go out to Smithers and currently it is negative seven. We're
going to negative 19. I don't know how this is going to be, but apparently this three hour drive
is insanely beautiful. So I hope you guys enjoy the views. We're on a mission from God.
They look so cute. We just got to our hotel room and the girls are going to give us a room tour
of where we're staying. Push a bit harder. A little bit harder. Go, go, go. Yeah. Is this
where we're staying? Yeah. So we've got a double bed here, which obviously looks very bouncy and
comfy. And then we've got a nice little bathroom. Yeah. You don't want to go for dinner. How about,
do you girls want to go? Do you want to go for pizza? No. What do you want to eat?
She got away from you. Pizza, pasta party. Pizza, pasta party.
We're having pizza guys and pasta. Also Hayden has ordered possibly the best thing I've never
heard of. This is a pizza burger. Do you mind opening that so we can show what it looks like
inside? So it's a pizza and then inside is the burger. That is amazing.
It's a pizza party. It's a pizza party. It's like she's dabbing.
I'm not supposed to do that.
Go, go, go. Go, go, go. Too far, too far. 106, too far. There was, I just drew a cat.
So what did you write? Stevie smells cat. No, it's not Stevie smells cat. I wanted to write
because there is going to be a cat. Oh, there's going to be a cat. That's why I did it. So you
know there is going to be a cat. Oh, okay. Ready? Hold on to it. Hold on to it. Okay.
I've got the cat right here. You go first, go.
I can see why Beck and Paul were very happy with us when we said we will babysit the kids tonight.
Which one's our bed? That's your bed, that's Stevie's bed.
Can I sleep with the unicorn? No. You forgot your teddy.
Wow. What a beautiful view from our motel. Good morning, everybody. Welcome to Smithers. I don't
know if we told you that we're coming out here. It's kind of like a three hour trip away from
Kitimat. So we thought let's pack up the car, head out here, get a couple of rooms with the family
and go see Smithers because it's quite a beautiful little town. It's smaller than Kitimat and it is
so much colder than Kitimat. Let me just get my phone. Look at this, guys. Negative 24 at the
moment. This is the coldest we have ever been, but we haven't stepped outside yet.
Are we going to do it, Jess? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh my goodness. This is cold. Negative 27.
Negative 27. I want this and I want this. What is that? Do the dance.
Wow. This is so cold. What?
Whoa. My goodness. My whole leg just went in.
Oh no, no, no, no, no. It's so deep. Do snow angel.
Wow. That is a snow angel. We could like, I can't believe how deep it is. Like my whole foot's in
there. That is a deep hole. Whoa. Now this is snow. This is snow. What? This is so cold. What
happened to the horsies? They got cold. They got cold. So what's going to happen? They're
going like a horse sled, but because it's negative 27 today, there was like a cold snap.
Everything's closed. Even the ski resort is closed because they're worried that people on the ski
resort will get frostbite. I do like the odd coffee that gets shown. I can't go in there
cause I don't have snow boots on. So we drove three hours out to Smithers to have a sleepover.
Pretty much. Literally came out here to have a sleepover cause everything's closed cause it's
so cold. At least the girls are having fun in the snow. If everything's closed,
what's the one store that'll still be open? Timmy's. Timmy's. Timmy's. Timmy's. Timmy's.
We've come out to the Hudson Bay mountain resort to see if anything was open, but it's all,
it's all closed up now, but it was a beautiful drive up. Next stop. We were going to Timmy's.
Finally made it. Thanks for holding the dog. Timmy's. They've been saying Tony's. I keep
saying Tony's. We're at Tony's. Guys, we might be leaving Tim Hortons with more merch on
than when we arrived. The funny thing is, is that merch is actually pretty good quality.
See you in three hours time, Jess. Oh, thank you. See ya.
So we're just coming into, well, almost in Kitimat. We're like half an hour out of Kitimat.
Oh my gosh. There's earmuffs for Jess. Shall we go on the ice? Yeah. So there's like a lake just
outside of Terrace called Lakehouse Lake. Good name. And it's frozen over. So we're going to go
walk on the lake, which we've never done before. It's a cool, it's a warm negative 11 here. It's
not negative 27 like up in Smithers. Watch out girls, it's ice. This is so cool. This is the
first time we've actually got on like an actual lake. Is it slippery? Oh my God. This is actually
scary. What if it breaks through? This is cool. How thick is it? I'm sure it's pretty thick.
Whoa. This is so cool. This is probably like what walking on Lake Louise is like when it's frozen
over. Oh, I slipped there. Did you? People got their ice hockey out, going ice skating. There's
a little doggy. Jess want to play some hockey? Who's are they? I don't know. It's cool. They
set up like some ice hockey, like a little ice hockey field.
