(Premier League 2022/2023): Highlights Manchester City - Arsenal

It simply does not get any bigger than Arsenal against Manchester City. Pep Guardiola against his old student, if you like. This is a dedicated no-room-for-racism week in the Premier League. The players have taken a knee and we are underway. Beating Saliba in the air. Oh, Tommy Assett makes a mistake. De Bruyne! Scores! These are the standards. One tiny, tiny error is punished emphatically as Kevin De Bruyne celebrates his first goal in 17 games for club and country. Just by the foot, doesn't matter which way it comes to him. Along the floor, off the ground, left foot, right foot. If it's there to be hit, he'll do it. And he's got that class to really make it count. Penalty spot here, I think. Yeah, for the challenge, maybe. Edison on Nketiah. Penalty spot here, I think. Yeah, for the challenge, maybe. Edison on Nketiah. But just watch, when Nketiah hits this, watch the goalie. Edison already on a yellow, remember. A chance for the league leaders coming into this game tonight to get back on level terms. They have shown such resolve this season. They've been 1-0 down, they've been 2-0 down at times here and still come back to win games. It's a long, long wait. Saka scores! From City's coach. They deserve to be back on level terms. I think they've been the better team with the ball and they had that big knock back. We move into the final minutes of stoppages at the end of this first half. It'll be Vares with the delivery. Tomias is headed around, bullet headed back in. So close. Walking towards Haaland. Gabriel's got to be careful inside the penalty area. Haaland goes down and the referee reaches to point to the penalty spot. Gabriel is insistent he hasn't fouled it. The A.O.R. is going to give this as offside. Gabriel breathes a huge sigh of relief. Arsenal fans celebrate that decision as if they've scored. And the yellow card is stricken from the record. Yeah. Give it away by Gabriel. A sight of goal, Gundogan inside him. Grealish waiting. Jack Grealish scores! The target. Now I think ordinarily Aaron Ramsdale saves that every day of the week. But because of that crucial Tomiasu deflection. Keep energy in these Manchester City legs to Brunner. Haaland! That could be that tonight. It's the first goal in four games for Erling Haaland. Good finish but the run and this pass is perfect. The touch is instant. And that's in the back of the net. And you feel like that is game, set, match. We take it just in front of the Manchester City fans who are about to celebrate a very enjoyable journey back to the North West. Nothing less than massive this win for Manchester City.
