Computers have a lengthy and rather interesting history, dating back to the Model K unit built by Bell Laboratories scientist George Stibitz in 1936. Since then, these computers have grown more powerful with industries and even entire economies heavily dependent on them.

Besides their functions and how they’re used, the physical attributes of computers have also evolved. It's interesting to note that in the 1950s, they took up a whole room; companies would often allocate a single space just for a computer, with rows and rows of switches constantly manned and taken care of by a dedicated team. Today, however, computers are light, portable, and can even fit on a wristwatch – a feat that perhaps even Stibitz never dreamed of.
