EMMANUEL PETIT : AUX BONS SOUVENIRS DE SES ANNÉES MONÉGASQUES - LINE UP X COPA - AS MONACO

There's worse than being attacked There's worse I'm just talking about the clubs Yes the year were champions in '96 if I remember correctly I think if my memory serves me right He didn't fail I think we had already been champions five games from the end We were already French champions on the 33rd game day And were playing incredible football were having so much fun there was so muc Between the players there is a bond of affinity automatism and especially mutual respect We had a very talented team of great players When I first started my career at ACE Monaco I was a young guy surrounded by players Experienced old-timers with some of them having an incredible record Then also an aura an incredible charisma confident and outside the field So I started my career with Torri Amoros Bellone Atlet Odele Fofana Briefly I had an incredible pleasure Therefore compared to those generations I won't take that shortcut because I have It gave me just as much pleasure at the beginning as when one actually becomes a champion There's worse than being attacked There's worse Also there are other players as well I think Dan Petersen was also with us the Dane who was amazing There was Ali Ben Arbia in the midfield I think Enzo was also there Chiffaud if I remember correctly I'm not sure where he came from after that I can't remember But it's true that the attack when you look at the careers of these players you mentioned is just incredible They had statistics and also their way of playing Between Sonny David and Titi when I look at the progress they've made I think they are They arrived like kids at the training center I have just witnessed their progress It's just amazing At no time did anyone imagine they could reach such a peak Even if their qualities were recognized they just needed to refine and further develop them Sincerely it was amazing to play with them because it's easy to play with guys like Sonny David or Titi There are many synergies among these players As for the midfield back then I remember I had moved up from the camp In the middle of the field and it was a pleasure to play with those players In movement in technical interaction a simple glance a quick look and we immediately knew what to do The impression I have of that season is that were just skimming the surface of the debates At the time they really played a football that was truly identified with AS Monaco A technical smooth game with one or two touches of the ball It was fast Not only was it a pleasure to watch but it was especially a pleasure to play I think AS Monaco has a very large fan base around the world and in France It is not the equivalent of the top European clubs but the deficit with which we start at A S In Monaco being a football player is also proportional to the Monégasque population But once again we have observed over X years during our travels in any region of France that A S Monaco had incredible emotional potential with people That's the paradox for a soccer player
