Hi again guys, welcome back. So this is part two, it's the same day, we're still here basically,
still mooching around the plot. My name is Emma if you're new around here, I'm documenting my
first ever allotment plot, just showing you the highs and lows of gardening. I'm a first time
gardener so it's all good fun, it's all good fun. Right, I wanted to show you today these lovely
pictures came through from the jazzy little people that she drew. So this is my shed,
and this is me looking charming, looking a lot happier than I usually am on the plot,
let's be honest, and there's the old fox in the corner. So I just want to thank you for these,
I'm going to leave her link below for you to go and check out, and these are going to be framed
and be put up in my shed with all my other pictures that I'm putting up. So I absolutely
love them, thank you so much for doing them for me and it really has cheered me up and made my day.
Um right, so we're still here, we've had some lunch now, so I thought I'd sort of do the second
part of the vlog after lunch. So we've got some jobs to do and I'm going to show you a little
plot tour as well, it's May, I'm going to show you a plot tour of the plot in May because I
haven't really done an overview of the plot for a little while, so I'm going to do that as well,
enjoy. Right, next job of the day, or first job of this vlog, I'm going to fix the little door
thing, I'm sick of looking at it, to be honest I've got a plan, so I'm going to paint around it,
I don't know, I'm going to show you, hopefully it will sort of look a bit better than it,
I mean it can't look any worse can it, let's be honest. Remember when I said I couldn't make it
worse, I think I've made it worse. Oh for god's sake, so now the thing is, is I've made it stand
out more so everyone can sort of see it now. Oh for god's sake, it's much but it doesn't look like
anything does it. Instant regret, instant regret I should have left it, maybe I'll buy something
and stick it over the top, for god's sake, look at it, oh god. I don't think the slug ideas worked
because now look, the snails, whatever they are, this one's now been eaten, this one's now been
eaten and they weren't eaten before, so they're not really reacting the way I thought they would
to the um eggshells, which is really annoying. I'm gonna have to do some research on some other
kind of slug deterrents, I think beer traps, something that's really good, I'm gonna have to
look into that I think, but for now I have got some more eggs because that's all I've got,
I'm gonna put them around the pumpkins, I'm a little bit concerned about the pumpkins,
I want to protect them as much as I can, so I've got some more eggs.
They've not actually been back here but I don't want to take any chances,
all right some eggs, let's whack them around here I think, eggs, let's whack them up a bit,
eggs, I was supposed to whack them up in the bag, oh it's fine, okay I don't think it'll work
because it hasn't worked by the pond alley, slugs have still been there, right they're sort of
all around it, but I don't know, you're sort of gonna have to look after yourself pumpkins,
surely there's some kind of defence mechanism you have against this, I don't know, I'll whack
these ones off in the bag, is there even any eggs in there, oh yeah there is, there is,
spray them like that, fire them at them like that, and then they're sort of, it's like
bombs exploding and they won't know where it is, sorted, oh god that door, oh my hands are all
covered in eggs now, covered in eggs, maybe I should have dried the eggs first, I don't know,
should I have dried the eggs, it's hard to tell when you don't know, slugs and snails,
that's the next thing I need isn't it, slugs and snail invasion, after the fox and the cat
and the bloody birds, it's a war zone here isn't it, it's just a war zone, there's a bird in the
bloody pond, oh I don't know if you saw that, there was a bird in the bloody pond, oh god amazing,
I think it was giving itself a bath, oh no there's another dead fly, oh there's hundreds of
dead flies, oh guys I've killed hundreds of them now, hundreds of them, there's just dead flies
just flying everywhere, just like floating, like just floating, there's loads of things in here
now, loads of things, no idea what the hell they are, but they're in there, I don't know if you
can see them, it's quite exciting but at the same time there's no frogs, I do need more plants around
the sides and I need more plants inside the pond, I have ordered some but they're taking a while to
come from my local garden centre, because you can still order from your local garden centres by the
way if you didn't know, so I've got some plants for inside the pond coming and some plants for
outside the pond but it's taking a while to come and also I need to make a frog house
outside, I think I'm going to make a frog house to go like here in that little gap there and it'll
just be like some stones, the little roof or something like that where the frogs can kind of
hide and feel happy to come and potter about in my pond, I saw a bird in the pond earlier Ellie,
yeah, like a seagull, yes I think before we go we'll sit down over there somewhere and we'll see
and wait if a bird comes, that'd be fun wouldn't it, I'm just going to put this in the bucket
because that's what they're there for isn't it, to watch them, to watch them take a bath,
like pervs, oh look I've just realised this is flowerwood and I've just remembered what it is
now, it's a water forget-me-not, that's what it is, it's a forget-me-not, there we go, I knew
I'd figure it out, isn't that beautiful, look at that, if I can get it to focus, beautiful,
I'm wondering if I should take this netting off because they're all sort of starting to come
through the netting now and this one is sort of bending which I don't really want to happen,
do you think Foxy will dig in here if I take it off, he hasn't been in that bed and he hasn't been
back here for a while, you know what I'm going to take them off, I'm going to do it, I'm going
to regret this I know but he's not been digging for a while you know, he's not, he's not really
been digging so, all right that's off, oh fingers crossed you don't come back guys, I just really
think that these need a bit more room and I don't, I don't know what that is, that's a weed isn't it,
not that bloody weed isn't it, that's a weed, I can weed it better now, fingers crossed Foxy
doesn't think he's got his toilet back, if he doesn't bury my hat again, that's what he used
to do, burying my hat, oh we used to have so much fun, me and the bloody fox, I wish I could remember
what these ones were because they're coming up now, that's a weed that can bagger off, but yeah
that's really exciting, these, these rows are coming up now, I know these are gladiolides, I remember
that, I don't remember what else I planted, what else is a bulb, it's a flower, I should have labelled
them or something, I don't know why I didn't label them, well I do, I do know why I didn't label them
because I couldn't be bloody bothered to label them, but now I'm in a predicament where I don't know
what's coming up, all right you can see now that the dahlias are actually growing, which is amazing
considering I put them out in like February and it's gone really hard now, it's not like floppy
anymore, yeah it's looking good and this one here also looks great and is growing, which is amazing
and also look, I think that's, yeah it's growing isn't it, that's a dahlia I think, that's the one that I
think I killed, maybe I haven't killed it, I thought it needed that little spike thing to grow but maybe
it doesn't need that because I sort of picked that off by accident when I was wobbling it, I keep
touching everything, I really shouldn't, I know, sometimes things grow when you just don't think
they're going to grow and you've sort of given up on them and lost hope and then all of a sudden they
grow, that's one of the beautiful things about gardening, that's one of the things that I'm
enjoying the most, is like losing hope, giving up and then it like, it works and you're like oh
all my hard work that I did actually did pay off and it was, it was doing something, you just, you
can't see the results straight away, you have to be patient, wow they've actually grown, oh look at the
carrots, they really eat like carrots and I think gardening's really teaching me to be patient,
not something that I'm very good at but I'm learning and I'm getting there and it's paying
off because I'm looking around now and I'm just thinking bloody hell, I grew all that from seed,
I haven't brought any plug plants at all, I brought bulbs and seeds and it's just all growing and it
is, it is just bloody amazing isn't it, I know I say that sometimes and I sound like a bit of a twat
when I say that but it is bloody amazing that stuff grows, you just put it in the ground and
you put water on it and you look after it and it grows, it's just the best thing, it's just the best
thing ever, it really is.
