One of the greatest athletes ever and one of the most iconic shots in basketball history. And for four decades, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has held the title of the all-time leading score in the National Basketball Association. This man could pass him tonight. Remember, 35 to tie, 36 to pass. First shot, no. Cleaned up and tapped in by AD. Here comes Josh Giddey. Boy, Stu, you love his game. I know that. I do. I like his game an awful lot. Kenrick Williams made the outside jump shot. I believe it for AD. They play a little keep away. This is the start of the game. And Pat Bev has the Lakers up five to three. They will get Chad Holmgren back, their number one pick next year. Good pass by AD. And Rui throws it down. And now here is the other Williams. This is J-Dub who hits the jump shot for the Thunder. They try to stop the ball. Bounce it to AD. He rides it up and in. And there's LeBron doing what LeBron does. That came up on the Lakers. That came back of Portland. And it's thrown down by SGA. Not urging LeBron to shoot. He has not scored yet. Got it! There's his first bucket of the night, and it comes from downtown. Giddey, good pass. That's what he's really good at. Blocked! Whoa! Taken! Russ! That's LeBron on the bounce. LeBron, one on three. Gets doubled up. Scores! In traffic, doesn't matter. Well, Mouskala, Mouskala who played briefly. I mean, ever so briefly. A little over four minutes to play. Blocked by Davis. Chased him down. LeBron's at the other end. Out of bounds. Turnover. Russell trying again. He knocks it down. Here's Lonnie with four. Knocked down on the hardwood. It went swishing through. Here's Mouskala looking for the hat trick. Got it. Moose is three for three. Russ tries to answer and does just that. Troy Brown Jr. goes unattended. Right to the rim. In the corner. Got it. Rainbow. That's Aaron Wiggins who's coming off of a season high and scoring. Good pass by Russ. And the reverse layup by Brown. Good ball movement. Finds Lonnie Walker with the three. Wow, Lonnie Walker has the hot hand. Here comes LeBron. LeBron trying to force his way in. Kind of. It goes. And one. LeBron to the line. LeBron attacking again all the way. Count it. LeBron. Another three-point opportunity. He's got 13 and looking for more. Drive in. Out. And they hit another three. So they're just at it. LeBron straightaway three. Yes, sir. Oh, yeah. He's zeroing in. Giddy. Got it. Everybody here focusing on this man. Cross court. Now to Austin Reeves. Bounce and a good one. Throw it down, big fella. LeBron James looks to get in the paint again. Bullies his way. Blocked from behind. And yet another foul. Makes them both. 20 points for LeBron. Pretty easy math. 15 to tie. 16 to pass. He's got a three. Look out. Jake Yildiz-Alexander. Look at this little step back move for two. As their lead grows to 13. He only had 11 points in his last meeting. Reuter scores for the Lake Show. 68-57. Giddy. Little ball fake. And then he scores the floater in the lane. Ross got it. One bounce for rhythm. Westbrook. Good rebound by A.D. Doing work on the offensive glass. J-Dub. He's trying to attack on Troy Brown Jr. And he does just that for another two-point basket. A.D. who hasn't really been dialed in yet tonight. Underneath Giddy. Right at the rim. Again, just operating unattended on the baseline. Now LeBron's at the other end. Here he comes. LeBron James has it taken away and out of bounds. Is that going to be a shooting foul? Wife. Savannah. Mom. Gloria. Documenting the moments. Lakers are down by 10. Middleman is Giddy. He lays it off. And Williams throws it down. Jalen Williams. LeBron steps into a three. Got it. Long distance. Dial it up. LeBron. LeBron going downhill. Stops for three again. Yes, stop. The king is on fire. 84-78 over A.D. Giddy scores. Rui Hachimora. Been a quiet night for him. Not anymore. Gildas Alexander. Gotta be careful when he's on the offensive end. Lakers would love to have him pick up that foul. But he knocks it down. That's off of LeBron. Now the Lakers have a four on two. Russ in the middle. Gives it to LeBron. Here he goes. Lay it up and in. He's got 30. Isaiah Joe from downtown for the Lakers. They've been swimming upstream for a long time tonight. Troy Brown Jr. LeBron get ready to check back in. That's the chair from the outside. Got it. The answer right back. Isaiah Joe. Russ backing up. Lob for LeBron. He lays it. He is a possession away from Ty and Kareem. LeBron has it 15 feet away from the goal. LeBron. For the record. You can see the relief on his face all time. There's never ever been a player that's laced him up that has scored more points than LeBron James. They stopped the game as presenting the ball. Also to have Kareem probably come out and handing the ball as passing the torch so to speak. What a moment. Wife and sons. Center court NBA commissioner Adam Silver is joined by the legend who has held the all-time scoring record since 1984. The captain Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. LeBron you are the NBA's all-time scoring leader. Number six LeBron James. Better shoot. Yeah there's three. There's two. Rui put in a bad spot. He fires it up and rattles it home. Russ fires for three. Got it. Rui out of thought. Now he's going to spin and go to the rim. And we're tied at 106. No Gilgis Alexander in for them. No LeBron for the Lakers. Josh Giddey the bounce to Williams and he puts it in around Thomas Bryant. Down by five again. They turn it over. That was fortunate that Rui did not commit that foul. It would have been a clear path. Pat Bev fly by. Hachimura for three. Got it. Oh down the middle. No defense. They parted the sea again and Oklahoma City takes advantage. Spinning Dennis all the way. Beautiful stop by Schroeder. Now to Shay Gilgis Alexander. On its way. They got another one. Russ with some speed. Here he comes. He's not going to stop till he gets to the rim. Now trying to win this game. He's got less than four minutes to do it. And they bounce underneath and Kenrick Williams finds himself alone on a bounce from Gilgis Alexander. They throw it away again. Another turnover. It's a three on two. Giddey all the way. Scores. Nice left-handed shot by Giddey. Mid-range for A.D. Good shot. Little mid-range at time for Davis. And they continue to get into the paint and attack. By the way, Russ has six turnovers tonight. And LeBron first bucket. He's been setting the record. Pat Bev. He's going to try to drive to the basket. Finds Russ underneath. A concession of sorts with a minute 19 now. And it's a nine-point game. Now Russ all the way to score it. It's a seven-point game. Russ starts, stops, bumps into a defender. Puts it up and puts it in. Puskala. They don't foul him. What a big shoot. Gilgis Alexander underneath. Williams puts a bow on it. And on a night that belongs to LeBron as he becomes the all-time leading scorer in NBA history. OKC is going to come in here and get a win. And remain ahead of the Lakers. The Lakers are stuck in 13th in the West.
