Mickey Guyton Performs the National Anthem at Super Bowl LVI

The national anthem was being performed for the second year in a row by a country music superstar. The 2022 national anthem was sung by Mickey Guyton, a Grammy Award-nominated country music artist, ahead of the Super Bowl 56 game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams in Inglewood, California. She delivered a strong performance but wasn't in any rush.
Besides Mickey Guyton’s beautiful and powerful voice, what was so great about this rendition of the National Anthem is the 10-member choir behind her. The choir added such stunning percussion effects to the familiar words as they came in "And the rocket's red glare....". With Mickey leading the choir in the second half of the song, they brought the anthem home to its rousing end in a most satisfying way. It is absolutely a great and memorable presentation of our National Anthem.
Just so you know, Mickey Guyton is a country music artist from America. She was raised in Texas, which is why she was exposed to different genres of music at a young age. As a result, her music incorporates elements of contemporary country and R&B music. The album “Remember Her Name” from her 2021 debut album earned her a Grammy nomination for best country album, and this is the first-ever for a Black artist.
