The Khmer Cheese Market - Prahok Market Battambng Province - Salty Fish Paste Business Cambodia

You might think that it's ugly and no hygiene but this food is very popular and supply to all the local people.

The Khmer Cheese Market is a name on Google map and video location. The location to The Khmer Cheese Market or Prohok Market is on the same road to Ek Phnom temple which we can travel from Krong Battambang along road 156 and along Sangker river (left of Sangker river) spending about 15 minutes (6 Km). The smell is really really bad but tourists like to see it. The people in this market never welcome the tourists as tourists always cover their noses and said about bad smell or bad things. This is the big salty fish paste business at Battambang province in Cambodia. We don't see all but how they make the salty fish paste or cheese is simple, they just cut the fishes in part and mixing with salt and seasoning, adding colour and mixing again as you can see a scene that 2 men with 2 shovels and a man with a bucket of color water working on a bush of cut fishes mixing together. That's a part of how they make salty fish paste.
