Exploring The History of TEA
The history of tea dates back to ancient China over 5000 years ago. According to legend, Chinese Emperor Shen Nung discovered tea in 2737 BC. Tea was first used as a medicine, but over time it became a popular drink in China. During the Tang dynasty (618–907 AD), tea became an important part of Chinese culture, with tea parties and the production of tea leaves as a trade commodity. The popularity of tea spread to Japan and Korea and eventually to Europe and the Western world, where tea became a popular drink in the 17th century. Today, tea is consumed all over the world, with various types and blends available, including black tea, green tea, oolong tea, white tea, and herbal tea.
