To be able to participate in any sport there's a lot of things that you're going to need.
Such as clothing, equipment and accessories but the real question is what can you buy a snooker
player that they're actually going to be able to use. Welcome back if it's your first time
watching one of our videos and it's fantastic to have you here. You would think you'd be able to
buy any snooker player a shiny new Q but that can be a bit like turning up at a friend's house and
So I've come up with a list of five things that all snooker players will actually want
and need. Starting with number five and anyone who's played in a damp environment will have
noticed their Q can get pretty sticky. This is of course easily solvable by wiping down your Q and
Mark Williams once told me there's nothing better to do this with than an old piece of table cloth.
But if you think this was a complete wind-up and any fine piece of cloth will work just as well
then you could always get one of these custom embroidered Q towels for yourself or as a gift
and you can click the link here or in the description to see any of these products in
more detail. But now for something a little more expensive. It's possible that this ball
is up to three grams heavier than this ball and if you're the sort of person you think to yourself
well that's way too much why not try some of these. These are Armith Tournament Champion
Super Pro 1Gs and lots of players are carrying them around with them now so they don't have to
put up with the inconsistent balls they get given at the club. These are great to play with as they
are a little more reactive although they are very pricey. However if somebody bought me a set I
wouldn't turn them down and I doubt Sean from Albany in Western Australia would either. Number
three. If you've watched enough snooker the one thing that should have been hardest to miss is
players continuously chalking their cues and that was fine when chalk costs about 50 pence but
these days there's new breeds of chalk out there. Some are trying to prevent bad contacts and some
are trying to give you better grip. However you look at it the average block of chalk costs you
around 30 times more than it used to and they really do provide significant advantages so it
is the sort of thing that will help players like Gareth from Torquay in the United Kingdom.
Number two. So keeping your cue and possibly even now your chalk safe is crucial.
That's why you're going to want a sturdy good looking cue case. A good one can be sensibly
priced between 40 and 400 pounds and absolutely vital if you're going to take your cue anywhere.
There are a variety of stylish leather effect cases to choose from but these can be flimsy
and fall apart quite easily even if they're well looked after and that's why an aluminium case can
be a lot safer and more durable option. And number one is finally here. This is my official
proof of Break From Life's first ever book. This is the reason this video wasn't actually
released on time because I've been waiting to show you how great this book actually is.
It's full of colour photos of all 99 trick shots as well as giving you advice on lining shots up,
your technique, straight cueing and spin control. This book gives you all the technical advice you
need to be able to play all of these trick shots as well as improving at snooker at the same time.
The best thing about this book is the QR codes. All you have to do is pull out your phone,
open a photo app and scan the code. This will take you to the exact trick shot you're looking
at playing so you can see exactly how it should be played as well as telling you the best way to set
the shot up and play it including what spin you actually need to put on the cue ball for each shot
and how hard you need to hit it. And if you're struggling with a technical part of the game you
can simply scan the QR code in that section and it'll take you to a specific video to help you
with that area so you can find out all about spin control here. This takes you directly to
YouTube where there's hours of video to help you with whatever you're struggling with.
Even though this is in fact a massive plug, I think this is the thing you'd want most on this
list. As well as being one of the least expensive, this entire book costs less than a block of chalk
and it's available to purchase on Amazon right now which is fantastic because it is the sort
of thing a snooker player would actually want you to buy them. And that even includes people
like Anthony from Lafayette in the United States. So if you want to find out more about any of the
on this list you can find all of them on the Break From Life website right now,
especially Break From Life's first ever book. Or have a look at these videos where you can see
all the trick shots the book could teach you. And remember don't just watch,
play and make the commitment to becoming a better player by subscribing to the channel.
