In this week's vlog I got a lot done in the garden! I couldn't film everything I did because of bad weather and not wanting to ruin my camera. I cut down the remainder of my magnolia tree, pruned some mule palms and planted up another tropical garden. In the sitting area on my patio I decided to swap out a large adonidia palm for a queen palm which meant I had to pot the queen palm, that took some time but once I was done I was able to start planting. In these containers I used Cordyline fruticosa 'Maria' and Colocasia 'Maui Gold' both of these plants have bright and vibrant foliage. In the center planter, under the queen palm, I used more of the Cordyline fruticosa 'maria' and added some of the Cordyline fruticosa 'Kiwi' which are some of my favorite tropical plants this year. I will likely be adding some small crotons into these as well as filler and spiller annuals. Using this combination of plants under the bird of paradise and queen palm brings the last few videos together and ties the various spaces on the patio together.
