Today we're going to be making almond chai. Now the first time I ever had chai was in
a Pakistani restaurant in Paris actually and it was made with condensed milk and it was
sweet and spicy and completely delicious. So when chai became really popular and you
can just buy chai tea bags everywhere I was kind of happy. So today we're just going to
make a really milky chai. Now these are the just regular chai tea bags.
There can be all kinds of different spices including like black pepper,
cardamom, all kinds of different things. It depends on the mixture and it always smells
like really good. This one's got a lot of cinnamon in it. Now we're going to kind of
up the ante a little bit with this. So I've heated some milk in the back on the stove
and I've already steeped some tea bags in here so that it's already
got it's already been kind of chai'd up. These have been infusing now in the back for about
five minutes or so and it's giving them a prod just to get more of the spiciness out of them.
Can you see a gorgeous colour? And this by the way is a really great almond milk because it's
very creamy. Now I'm just going to take, getting my glasses steamed up,
take these out. Again just keep pressing them to get as much of the flavour out. Now
to make this extra tasty we're going to be putting in like half a teaspoon of vanilla.
Now I'm sort of lazy so I'm going to use the cap to measure it which is about half a cap will do.
About half a teaspoon of ground cloves
and some more cinnamon. Now cinnamon's very good for you too, it's a very, has a lot of
antioxidant properties and this, this little old chai is going to be full of it. So
this is it now, it's just ready to drink. There we go, gorgeous. Oh that's so good.
Now I like my drinks unsweetened but if you want to add sweetener just put in a teaspoon of agave
nectar or honey into this just to give it a little, a little bit of a sweet edge. Cheers.
