Going to a restaurant I haven't been in a long long time. One of my favorite places to eat here in Japan
Ichiran Ramen
Got my tickets. The next step should be
Sitting down and filling out my favorite ramen form
Dashi medium rich
Garlic, one clove
One green onion
Width of course
Here we go 10 times spicy the maximum spicy level you can get without having to pay anything extra
This is one of my favorite experiences in Japan have to do it every single time I'm here
It's just such an intimate experience. They close the curtain for you
So you're literally in a little ramen cubicle and the magic curtain opens
They drop off your food and a beautiful bowl of ramen appears with like a Mount Fuji sized
Pile of chilies on top their chilies is amazing, especially made for this ramen place add in my extra order of char siu
My mushrooms
Seaweed and I got extra extra garlic and just look at how beautiful this is
thin noodles
rich thick porky broth some scallions inside as well for a
Refreshing crunch mix it in till the chili completely absorbs into the broth
This might be the best for each one on them I've ever had I
Don't know whether it's because I haven't had this in years or I had the extra garlic
Maybe it's both but nothing is beating how rich and
delightfully flavorful the broth is egg
Perfect my favorite part I
Know there's tons of ramen shops in Japan and this is considered more like the McDonald's or ramen
But this is one of the best spells I've ever had
Just because there's a chain you can't deny how good this ramen is
Noodles are thin soaks up and cleans on to that broth so nicely everything about this from the texture of the noodles to the
consistency of the broth
Save the broth take this put it here
Today
Fresh we throw from noodles. I always recommend getting a refill of noodles
As I was the same after every single meal here, you know, how do you feel sweaty feel incredibly satisfied? Yeah, I
Bought some of their chili powder. Take home. I love this
There it is the second location vending machines right up front
I think you just walk in and it's not even full right now. I just made a huge mistake
I thought this was their bit our ramen vending machine, which it is a ramen vending machine. It's literally a vending machine though
So you just order you take it home. It's not what you get. There's not a ramen ticket machine, which is what I'm looking for. I
Think one big difference is there's definitely more seasoning here. So here there's chili oil. There's vinegar
There's sweet sauce peppers on the table chilies the original location. You just see what you're given
This is beautiful first of all biggest difference I could see the chashu when you go to the original location
I don't know if I just didn't order it correctly. There's the medium rare pork. That's not here here
It's just flat pieces of chashu. You do get a bunch of different varieties
But I remember this place having just the best chashu different cuts thicker cuts thinner cuts some leaner cuts some fattier cuts
You have ramen itself beautifully laid out
Glistening in the light and of course the different broth
Mushrooms you can smell the rich anchovy and pork
Rich deep flavorful
Smoky different broth. That's to me the signature different broth. Taste the anchovies and say dipping noodles in pure umami
Dip my chashu in here as well
The sticker piece of chashu is so smoky very lean but breaks apart really nice in your mouth after the
Additional sauce gonna make it spicy this time
Only a little bit more spicy I like it
It's the seafood element that really sets this different broth apart
Dip your whole life into this different broth
The last piece of chashu was thinner way smokier way more tender I love how you get so many different cuts of chashu here
That was the thinnest fattiest piece so far and just like at the original location
Make sure don't finish all your dipping sauce. I know it's hard to me almost impossible save a little bit for the soup
So nice you could have one bowl of ramen while in Tokyo, this is still my number one recommendation
Obviously if you can't afford the experience having
Ramen served by chef Tamita in that whole atmosphere of the original location. It was worth a visit. You don't want to wait though
Tastes just as good
And finally wrapping today off with the other giant chain ramen restaurant here in Japan, Ippudo
So Ippudo has more of a sauce selection for you when you sit down. There's peppers. There's ramen seasoning
Vinegar sesame soy sauce last time I was here
I swear they had raw minced garlic, but I think now you gotta order it. They also have bean sprouts
Oh, and that rumone is so cheap here in Japan like a dollar bottle. Also the bottle is plastic
Comes out easier so got two bowls got the regular classic and the spicy
So creamy and porky will be better with more garlic
I really wish I got the extra garlic because I remember last time with the garlic that
Really puts it over the top. Add some pepper and vinegar because right now the broth is good
It's very creamy very porky, but compared to something like Ichiran it lacks a wow factor. So I did some peppers and vinegar
This is now amazing try with the vinegar and pepper a lot more peppery a little acid to cut into the fattiness of the broth
This is now very very good
Those are good spicy sprouts very good that goes really well the straight chewy noodles
That chashu is a no-go for me. Very dry very lean but the broth with some vinegar
That's a huge winner. This one is the very spicy version of the pork broth
It's a little toasties in here scallions and the broth is just pure red from the chilies. Oh
Wow
So I got very spicy. They really mean it
I love the little crunchies, but I think this as well needs vinegar. This is a great vinegar, by the way
It cuts into the fat so much
It makes the broth not just porky
Definitely has a whole new layer of flavor this one much thicker because of the chilies the noodles cling to the broth
Really really? Well, the chili is definitely spicier than we get in Ichiran
It also has more of a barbecues flavor, I don't really know what's adding that flavor to it, but it's good
Smokier a little sweet. It's a definitely a different kind of burn then what you get in Ichiran
Also the TJ show you it's really interesting. This is a Roy boss tea
It tastes a little unusual, but it's made to cut down the fattiness
It's really like a nice refreshing little palate cleanser between bites of ramen
I think it's really useful here because this broth is definitely some of the porkiest riches
You'll find anywhere in here. They give you a spoon where you can just scoop up the little bits of meat
crunchies from the bottom
So today is like a walk down ramen memory lane
Just wanted a day where we visit some of my most favorite ramen places in Japan Tomita always a classic
It's a skimming that I would always recommend you check out
Especially if you can't get into the main shop the main restaurant where you're served directly by chef Tomita. That's an experience regards to each
You want you put I think last time when I talked about that wasn't really sure which one I truly like more this time
Ichiran it's always Ichiran in my opinion the broth is better the noodles better the chilies better all-around winner in my book
I don't care if it's a chain or not
Still one of my favorite ramen's in Japan, but if you never had it before
Check it out when you're here
It tastes way different than we're getting in the US and I can't wait to be putting their chilies on everything
That's always all place. I went to listen down below for you guys. Thank y'all so much for watching until we eat again
See you later
