As you know, at the beginning of September of this year it was announced that Travis Scott was going to have, for an unlimited time of approximately 1 month, its own meal under the name Travis Scott meal in the largest burger chain in the world and, apparently his favorite, obviously, I'm talking about McDonald's and this is something really interesting because it's the first time in almost 30 years that the food chain has a collaboration with a celebrity. In 1992, there was a Michael Jordan Meal or McJordan Delux as it was also known. Of course, this was also extremely popular and in this video, we are going to discuss these two collaborations and some other interesting stuff McDonald's has created in the past. For instance, in 1998 for the premiere of the Disney movie of Mulan the food chain released a teriyaki sauce that many years later became a popular item again thanks to "Rick and Morty" and I'm also going to try the Travis Scott burger.

Ok.
Hi guys, it's Kara and typically I bring you house tours or other celebrity videos
but seeing all the buzz around the Travis Scott McDonalds meal, I thought I would join
in on the fun and not only try the meal for myself, but give you guys a ton of information
you may not know about Travis and McDonalds.
If you like these videos, please check out my personal channel Kara The Vampire Slayer
and we'll have links at the end.
Jacky's Berman Webster, also known as Travis Scott, is one of the most popular rappers
in the world at the moment, and he's not only demonstrated this with the success he
had with his album Astroworld and the single Sicko Mode.
No, Travis' influence extends far beyond rap and his popularity.
Far from limited to record sales and sold out tour dates, is the foundation of a whole
new and different industry.
There's no doubt that Travis Scott is hot, any product that has his name on it becomes
in an instant impossible to find.
Scott's limited collaboration with Nike, the Mocha Brown Air Jordan 1 Retro High Travis
Scott, sold out in about 3 seconds.
Although to be honest, this happens with most of the limited edition Jordan sneakers.
But almost immediately, Travis Scott's Jordans broke price records on resale sites like StockX,
and a year and a half later, they're some of the most expensive sneakers you can buy
anywhere.
And this is assuming they can find them.
A pair of these men's sneakers is between $1,500 to $2,500 on resale.
But this man has also collaborated with cereal brands.
When he announced an exclusive box of Reese Puffs, which would sell for $50, they sold
out in 30 seconds.
At some point, the cereal sold for $165 on eBay, and currently depending on the location,
I think it's pretty difficult to even find it for resale.
Because remember that Travis Scott products are designed to run out, and of course his
latest corporate collaboration is of the size of his fame and reach.
In the time that this meal has been available at the restaurant, it has been so in demand
that some McDonald's locations have run out of ingredients, and in several cases have
been completely sold out.
And let's remember that this is a company that sells around 2 billion hamburgers every
year, and the fact that they have sold out hamburgers is crazy, but that's how popular
Travis Scott is.
As I said before, this isn't the burger chain's first collaboration with a celebrity.
The McJordan burger honoured the legendary basketball player Michael Jordan, who had
his own burger in 92.
The limited edition quarter pound burger featured Jordan's favourite toppings, smoked bacon,
cheese, BBQ sauce, onions, mustard, and pickles.
From what we could see in that commercial,
the Michael Jordan meal did have special packaging, and what appears to be a collectible cup.
Something that didn't happen with the Travis Scott collaboration, and as you might know
many fans did not like this because they expected that.
At least the packaging would say Cactus Jack Travis Scott.
Something but there's nothing.
In 1998 when the movie Mulan was released, McDonald's put out a teriyaki sauce called
the Szechuan sauce for the nuggets.
And almost 10 years later in a very limited way, McDonald's again offered this Szechuan
sauce in several of their American restaurants, which caused a lot of excitement, but there
were very few sauces.
The reason for this sudden salsa fever was caused by the show Rick and Morty, since in
the premiere episode of the 3rd season, there was a reference made to this sauce that changed
everything for Rick.
So I think it is clear that McDonald's has always been present in popular culture, and
of course it will continue to be present.
The Travis Scott combo cost 6 stars in the US and consists of
A quarter pound beef patty with 2 slices of melted cheese, 3 strips of bacon, shredded
lettuce, pickles, onions, ketchup and mustard.
The combo includes medium french fries with a BBQ sauce and a large Sprite soda.
And I think we already talked a lot now about the history, so now I'm gonna try the burger.
So follow me to the other side of the studio.
Ok guys, now I'm gonna try the burger.
So we have the Travis Scott burger right here, and there is Sprite, and the fries with BBQ
sauce.
So I'm gonna give you my honest review, and if it's anything different.
Well the Sprite's the same, it's just normal Sprite, ok.
There is a pickle on it, ok so it's very good, but it's just a normal quarter pounder with
bacon.
That's what I'm tasting.
I think it just tastes different because of the bacon on it, but it's like the same thing.
So now, the fries with the BBQ sauce, ok.
That tastes good, I'd eat that again.
Anyway so, BBQ sauce is good, I'd use it instead of ketchup.
You want me to take another bite?
Ok now it's on my face.
Yeah.
Thanks.
Ok, so I think really the burger, the whole Travis Scott thing is definitely overhyped.
They should've put his face on the package, or made a special sauce for him, but if this
is the way he likes his quarter pounder, I mean it's still good.
And the fries with the BBQ sauce, I'm definitely a fan, I would eat that again, and I don't
really like Sprite, but I'm thirsty, so I drink it anyways.
That's my honest review.
Ok guys, well if you try the Travis Scott meal, I'd like to know what you think about
it down in the comments, if it's overhyped, or you really like it.
But anyways, I'm gonna finish eating this, so I'll see you all in the next video.
Bye!
