What Leah thought was the biggest scare.
Good morning everyone. Today is the day.
We're finally going to the sticky waterfalls. It feels amazing outside.
We got a late start. It's like almost 11 right now.
We've heard that you have to like start at nine,
so hopefully we'll get there in time to actually do something.
We are really excited because we've seen so many videos on these sticky
waterfalls and I even had a friend from back home suggest that we go today.
So we are really excited that we're going and we're going to check it out.
Yeah. And I don't know like how sticky, sticky is.
So I'm anxious to see like the waterfalls or is it like you walk down the side?
I'm kind of ropes. Yeah.
We're not really sure what's going on there.
Actually sticky or I guess we'll have to find out.
But first we have to go get a bike and because we're getting there later in the
day, we may not get one. We're not sure.
We got there really early last time and we got the perfect bike.
So since we're getting such a late start,
like three hours after we got there the original day,
we hope they have something for us.
All of the mountain bikes are gone. I don't know if that's what we need, but
yes, they still have one of our bikes left.
So we did it successfully. We rented a bike. It's the same price as last time.
We realized to rent the bike is actually two 50 and we're getting a bigger one
because Zach is so big and it's 50 bought for the insurance.
We're almost to the sticky waterfalls. I'm so excited.
It's really hot on here. So like hopefully we can cool off. Yes.
So we made it. It took us about one hour to get here from Chiang Mai.
Everyone said it was going to take two, like no way.
Maybe I just drive really slow. It took one,
but we were in some pretty heavily trafficked areas for a little bit.
So the last like 30 minutes were really pretty drive.
But other than that we were like on the main road. But anyway, it took one hour.
It is free to get in.
All you have to do is sign like sign your name and your age and how you got
there.
And I think that's just so they can like keep track of how many people are at
the waterfalls. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah, we're here. How are you feeling though?
My butt hurts. My butt does not hurt.
So maybe that's like a backseat thing because you were taking up all the
cushion. Oh true. And we also had to go off road for a little bit.
There was some construction and we had to, yeah, it was an adventure,
but we're here.
So we had heard that this isn't as private to tourists as people think it is.
But in comparison to where were we at before?
Yeah. The temple on top of the hill, it's only like 30 minutes away from the
city. This is like a quarter of those people, maybe an eighth. Yeah.
Not that many people here.
Like I have fallen plenty of times in water,
on slick rocks. So this is a little nerve-wracking.
Is it slippery? I don't know. That looks good.
And it's green. I saw the white ones and those are like,
look at that.
There's just a rope off the side of the cliff and you can just climb down,
I guess. What?
Changing plans. We're going to start from the bottom.
We just read a sign that says green surfaces are slippery.
Do not walk on those. Which is what we were on.
Which is exactly what we were on.
So we're going to go down to find the white spots.
We are in the jungle.
What? Only all waterfalls are like this.
Someone called us out because everyone's wearing, well not wearing shoes.
And we're the only ones that are.
That's why we bought these Chacos.
But like, look at that. That girl's going up there with no shoes on.
Got no shoes. It's like a vertical cliff.
I'm not ready.
We just scaled a ridiculously steep waterfall with no issue at all.
Which one are we going to choose?
Oh, we just had a little scare.
Easily one of the scariest things that has happened to us this far on the trip.
I put the GoPro in my pocket and then I made it up most of the waterfall and
then I was going to get it to film Leah and it wasn't there anymore.
And he was like, do you have it? I was like, yeah, she has it. Like,
no, I don't have it. So I was like, okay, maybe it's in the backpack.
And then I was like, okay, no, the backpack can't open that easy. Okay.
Oh, I really dropped it. And then it was like, okay,
now I got to go back down this waterfall.
I just climbed up and look in every crevice.
There's like water seeping into everything. Like there's holes.
I don't know where they end. Like my hand was going in there,
the full hand and that happened to me too. Yeah.
My hand went in one and it didn't like, it didn't end.
So I was like, okay, it's in, it's in the rock forever. Like it's,
it's part of the earth now. That's fine.
I kind of accepted it and Leah was freaking out.
She was like kind of getting upset with me.
So I kept looking and it was face up on the middle of this rock,
just like perfectly placed. And so we still have it.
It's like one part of the trail where I'm just like,
we're all by ourself and all these snake signs around us.
I'm just like looking up at this bamboo thinking like one's going to drop on me.
Like I'm not ready for this. One of the reasons I love Hawaii so much,
cause it was like rain forest, but no snakes. Like this is,
are you petting the rock? It's like if the same slope was concrete,
it wouldn't be this easy to walk up. I feel like I'd slip easier on concrete,
even with like grooves in it than I would on this.
And it's just crazy cause like your mind is like telling you,
you shouldn't be doing this. Like you should not be going up this waterfall,
but yet like your feet are just, you don't slip. It's like you never slip.
So for lunch we're having crab chips and I don't know what that means here.
Back home that means old bay chips. So we'll see.
These kind of taste like old bay chips.
This is just so relaxing up here.
Like we found a spot where it's just us climbing to the top of the waterfall.
We're having lunch. Just zen.
It's like such a peaceful day. So happy.
I just want to do some yoga right now on the slippery rock,
but I can totally do it.
And we love being outside and doing things like in the afternoon.
Yeah, like we met in a national park.
And this is the first time that we've actually just spent like in nature.
Yeah. On this vacation.
It's been really nice.
That was so much fun. We had such a great time at the sticky waterfalls.
By the way, it's called Boatong waterfalls.
Or people just call it sticky waterfalls. But yeah,
I would highly recommend this.
This was really a highlight of our trip so far and I'm just so happy that we
came.
Yeah.
And now we're going to get back on the road and go an hour back into the city
and try and beat rush hour.
Yes. To get some food.
Yeah.
That's a wrap. We did not hit rush hour. Good news. Bad news is Leah's butt hurts
pretty bad. So you might need a Thai massage.
Butt massage. Butt massage. Is that a thing? I think so.
Okay. So we've returned the rental car, rental car,
the motorbike and I'm like feeling great. But Leah.
I'm tired. I feel like I've just been at the beach, you know,
like that really tired.
You've been swimming all day.
I've been swimming all day. Like my hair has salt in it.
Jumping the waves. Yeah.
My face feels like I have a sunburn that's coming in and I just feel like I want to take a nap.
It's like depleted. Yeah. Yeah. It's just at the end of the beach day.
Yeah. Yeah.
We said we wouldn't do it.
So back in America we have root beer floats,
but here they have Thai tea floats.
So I'm wondering how that's going to taste.
Everything you needed. Done.
