Dan Levy, aka the star Canadian actor, writer and producer, is probably best known for co-creating alongside his father, Eugene Levy, the hit television series Schitt's Creek. Dan has done well for himself over the years, getting some pretty luxurious real estate in Los Angeles, California. While he considers himself a Torontonian, it only made sense to make the move considering how busy his career was getting. Dan made this purchase back in 2019 for $4.1 million. This 1936 Spanish home features over 3,000 square feet and boasts four bedrooms and three bathrooms that is located on a whopping 15,000 square foot lot. Levy paid $400,000 above the asking price for his new California sanctuary. We'll take a look at Dan's recent purchase, a home that features a two-story living room and private backyard that comes complete with an outdoor kitchen and even an open air shower. One thing's for sure, we're definitely not in Schitt's Creek anymore, and this is a house tour you're going to want to see. While he is the son of legendary actor and comedian Eugene Levy, Dan rose to fame after co-creating and starring as David Rose in the CBC sitcom Schitt's Creek. In addition to Dan and Eugene, his younger sister Sarah also appears on the show as the waitress Twyla. The Levy's prove that families can work together in the show business. In July 2020, Schitt's Creek was nominated for 15 Primetime Emmy Awards for its final season, with Levy winning Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series. It became the first comedy series to sweep the 4 main acting categories in a single year, the first comedy or drama series to win all 7 major awards in a single year, and the most awarded comedy in a single year. Levy spits his time between Toronto and Los Angeles, but him rising to international fame had only made sense for him to grab a home in Los Angeles to pursue further acting endeavors. And let me tell you, it's not just any home. Today we're checking out where the man of Schitt's Creek, Dan Levy, calls home, and it's not there, it's in LA. Upon the successful, critically acclaimed Canadian sitcom Schitt's Creek, and securing a 3 year deal with ABC to develop and produce scripted projects, Dan made the upgrade to a 1930s Spanish villa located in the celeb-inhabited Los Feliz, Los Angeles. Dan must have really liked this abode because he dropped a whopping $400,000 above the asking price on it. The home was purchased for 4.1 million dollars in 2019, and it features over 3,000 square feet, boasting 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. However, the spacious mansion sits on top of a nearly 15,000 square foot property as well. The home boasts powerful presence with sun-flooded rooms, which are just perfect for major entertaining. In addition to the bedrooms and bathrooms, there is an additional one-bed, one-bathroom guest suite with separate entrance. The formal entry is truly gorgeous, as Dan's foyer features a curved staircase made from the home's original stone tile, graceful archways, a combination of elegant furnishings and unique antiques, as well as a stunning, velvet-tufted ottoman. Probably the most unique characteristic of this enchanting, spiraling staircase is at the top, as it features an array of art, animal heads, and a large chandelier. Beside this foyer is a living space that perfectly frames the room's archway, as it features an awe-inspiring wall of built-in floating wood shelves that come complete with a combination of books and trinkets. Directly across is an additional living space, which features an abundance of plans, contemporary art, and large flat-screen television with plush green sofa, perfect for binge-watching Schitt's Creek. In addition, the home boasts a grand two-story living room, and it features warm wood floor-to-ceiling shelving. There's also hand-crafted wood-beam ceilings here, picture windows, and classic fireplace. Steps away from the luxurious kitchen is an equally luxurious dining room that features a grand circular table and vintage-style chairs, with another sophisticated bookshelf and large oversized windows to give the room life. The kitchen is also amazing, as it features all the modern stainless steel appliances and comes complete with patterned geometric floors that contrast perfectly with the kitchen's marble countertops and navy cabinets. I'm really getting a modern French bistro feel here. In addition, the Connoisseur's kitchen also features 48 Viking Sub-Zero double-wine fridges for those who fancy a chardonnay, and top-of-the-line everything. Not to mention, this kitchen is just steps away from the pool. Probably the most relaxing spots are the bedrooms and master suite of the Levy Residence. All of the spacious rooms feature oversized windows that give the room an airy and roomy ambiance. And let me tell you, both master bedroom and bathroom have stunning direct sparkly down-tone views. The first bedroom features a cowhide rug and French doors that open to a Juliet balcony boasting views of Dan's relaxing backyard. The second bedroom features a combination of traditional antiques, elegant furnishings, and a half-moon window that doubles as a piece of artwork framing the lush view outside. And I saved the best for last. His master suite features an abundance of windows, dazzling fireplace, and grand oak wood cabinets and shelves. The principal bedroom's vaulted exposed beam ceiling and ample amount of natural light boast the most spectacular city views we have mentioned. Attached to this master suite is the principal bathroom that features a sprawling two-person glass shower wrapped in subway tile that gives a remarkable look. In addition, there's a children's room that featured colourful painting and shelves, an abundance of toys, and a playful panda lamp. But it could have easily since been changed into an office or another guest room. While the interior of the house is cool, the private backyard is definitely a great place to hang out or party. The expansive flat grassy area features an abundance of potted flowers and greenery that thrive below the California sun. Steps away from the greenery is an aqua green saltwater pool that comes complete with an abundance of cozy chairs perfect for soaking in the sun. Easy access from the pool, there's a lush canopy pergola dining area and an outdoor kitchen for those that want to make a meal outdoors. In addition, there's an open air shower and outdoor bar that will keep guests lingering outside late into the night. If Dan allows him to that is. While Dan's Los Angeles abode is stunning, he hasn't forgotten about his roots. Earlier this year, while 2020 hasn't been ideal for anyone, Mr. Lovey still made time in the summer to come back to Canada. It seems Canadian celebrities never stray for too long from their homeland. And even Dan came back to score some Tim Hortons treats. The Toronto born actor announced his arrival at the time writing on Instagram stories that In the pic he held the rest of his ice cap from Tim Hortons. And that's also my drinking choice. You can also see a sandwich or bagel of some sort sitting on the dashboard in the famous Tim Hortons wrapping. So despite the gorgeous home we looked at in Los Feliz, Dan reportedly still splits this time between Toronto and LA with his adorable pup Redmond by his side. He added that he'll be going into town to pick up some butter tarts which are a Canadian delicacy. I love those too. Alright so I think I'll bring this house tour to an end right there.
