TV personality Dr. Phil has been on the air for decades, kickstarting his career as the
resident expert for human behavior on Oprah's show back in the day.
These days, he continues to deal with real issues in his signature blunt style on his
long-running talk show.
And like him or not, he's amassed a net worth to the tune of about $460 million, some of
which he's invested in his stunning homes.
While Dr. Phil's longtime mansion where he lives with his wife, Robin, is located in
Beverly Hills, it resembles the Alamo Mission in Texas, which is Phil's home state.
This stunning home features 15,000 square feet of space, a guest house, a swimming pool,
and much more.
While Dr. Phil reportedly has to remain in LA to film his TV show, it also says on his
website that he lives in Dallas, Texas.
There was some information actually uncovered in 2020 that the couple did in fact snag a
luxury estate in the area of Old Preston Hollow there.
It was just done on the down low, but we know all about it now, and we'll show you that
place in this video.
While it does appear that Dr. Phil snagged a spot in Dallas, Texas, he still spends plenty
of time at his massive mansion in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, which actually overlooks
the couple's former home in the area.
This 15,000 square foot home resembles the Alamo Mission in San Antonio, Texas, which
is Phil's home state.
The TV shrink hadn't even sold his old house yet before closing on this current one, located
on 3 acres of hilltop land in Beverly Hills, overlooking their former house.
Apparently the celebrity couple had their eye on the massive home for a while, and jumped
on it when it came to the market.
They've apparently been living here since around 2010.
The luxurious Alamo-style mansion boasts 5 beds, 9 full baths, and 2 half baths, as well
as a detached guest house on the property with one bath, located above the garage.
Couple loved this home so much, they were willing to spend a whopping $29.5 million
dollars on it.
And out front, it's complete with a fountain, as well as a terracotta roof, wrought iron
balconies, grand columns, and white paint.
While there weren't many listing photos circling online of the very privately situated
property, we've also been able to catch glimpses from Dr. Phil and Robin themselves.
There's a two-story entrance hall with sweeping stairs, formal dining room, library, games
room, and a kitchen family room complex.
If the couple's previous estate is anything to go by, Mrs. McGraw likely decorated to
her heart's content with glittery touches and Tuscan extravagance.
Since they spent a lot of time at home during the pandemic a couple of years ago, Dr. Phil
had shown fans more glimpses of his home office.
Like this one where he captioned it, my desk during quarantine I grew up with a chalkboard
times they are a changin'.
His classy office also boasted a fireplace and wall-mounted TV.
The living room is grand with vaulted ceilings, gorgeous wood beams, modern decor, and dark
finishings.
There's also couch space for the couple to unwind with their dogs.
Among the multiple living areas, it seems the family loves to spend time in the spacious
kitchen cooking together, which is fitted with the best appliances.
There's also marble countertops, a massive island, and bar-style seating.
All four of the family bedrooms are located on the second floor with their own bathroom,
and the master suite that Dr. Phil and Robin share has dual baths, a private sitting room,
and a terrace.
The property offers some of the best views of Los Angeles, and outside the space is just
as nice.
There's a covered lounge area with outdoor fireplace, vaulted ceiling, and terracotta
tile floors which run along the back of the house, leading to the flat lawn.
By the looks of his Instagram, Dr. Phil likes spending time playing at the full-sized and
lighted tennis court that they have.
Not to mention, there's a swimming pool and panoramic city lights view back here.
The couple also loves decorating for the holidays, and we've certainly seen how they've done
things in the past.
Fans of Dr. Phil and his show would know that he's always called himself an old country
boy and has spoke about growing up in the south, with life lessons that helped shape
him in his practice.
While Phil has lived in Beverly Hills for years, it's said that he added on to his
real estate portfolio with a luxury mansion in his home state of Texas back in 2020.
The deal was done on the down low, but the neighbours in the posh area of Preston Hollow
located in Dallas, Texas took note of the new and famous resident.
It makes sense that Dr. Phil and his wife would snag this fancy abode, newly built in
2017 before they purchased, and designed in an Italian Mediterranean style.
According to listing materials, the couple purchased the nearly 15,000 square foot mansion
for just under $12 million in a quiet transaction.
The estate was designed by architect Patrick Ford, and the neighbourhood it's situated
in, Old Preston Hollow, is extremely desirable and loved by the rich and famous.
In fact, Dr. Phil's neighbours here include the likes of Mark Cuban, as well as bigwig
developers, attorneys, and more.
This showpiece of a mansion is an ideal home base for the McGraws in Texas, and it's
certainly comparable to their home in the hills.
This mansion is full of opulence, boasting 7 bedrooms, 8 full baths, and 5 half baths
throughout.
There are also a grand total of 7 living areas, including a stunning double height formal
living area adorned with columns and a white fireplace.
There's also a cozy family room with wood-beamed ceilings and another fireplace, as well as
a media room with stadium seating, and that's just a taste.
The sprawling main kitchen here has stainless steel appliances, plenty of marble, and a
dining nook, while there's a smaller kitchen elsewhere on the property.
Other spaces include a large lounge room with a built-in bar, a wood-panelled library, a
formal dining room, and even a wine cellar in the basement that holds up to 5,000 bottles.
If the sleek winding staircase isn't enough to take you from floor to floor, the mansion
also has an elevator that services all three levels.
Elsewhere in the home, there's also a jaw-dropping master suite with huge walk-in closets and
en-suites, a home movie theatre, a games room, and an office.
Moving outside, among the many stylish terraces on the grounds, there are a couple of covered
patios off of the house with fireplaces, and room to dine al fresco, a guest house,
and a massive swimming pool with spa.
Before we wrap up this video, let's check out Dr. Phil's former home which he sold
in 2010.
That year, the McGraws put their one-time Mediterranean villa in Beverly Hills on the
market for $16.5 million, just before they upgraded to their Alamo-style home.
Property records reveal that Dr. Phil purchased this home in the 90210 area back in 2002 for
$7.5 million in cash.
While listing info didn't show square footage of the home, the tax man shows it measured
over 11,000 square feet and sat on a lot nearly three-quarters of an acre.
Dr. Phil's previous home was in a prime location just north of Sunset Boulevard and
was completely walled and gated for celeb-style privacy.
This mansion offered 8 beds and 7 baths, as well as generous-sized public rooms and designer
finishes throughout.
Elsewhere in the property, there is a detached two-bedroom guest house for some extra space.
Walking in, the home had a glamorous two-story rotunda entry hall, diamond-patterned stone
floors, and a sweeping dual staircase for making dramatic entrances and exits.
Nearby, a luxe-looking great room with Juliet balconies and an ornate chandelier is situated,
and another living room with fireplace.
Other amenities included a formal dining room, a library, a family room, colossal kitchen,
and a half-circle-shaped breakfast room with mirrored walls.
There's also a billiards room, home theater, fitness center, media room, his and hers offices,
staff quarters, beauty boutique, and three fireplaces throughout.
Not to mention Dr. Phil and Robin were able to share a lavish master retreat with a sitting
area, private balcony, two baths, and custom-fitted dressing rooms.
A wide dining terrace extended off the back of this house with an outdoor fireplace and
media center for watching TV outside.
A pathway leads to the large swimming pool and raised circular spa.
In the end, the McGraws had to adjust the price, but they ended up letting go of this
mansion for closer to $13 million.
Now we've taken a look at 3 of Dr. Phil's gorgeous homes, including the secret one he
and his wife had purchased in Dallas back in 2020.
What did you guys think about his properties?
Well that might wrap up today's house tour, answer me this before you go.
If you could buy any style of mansion that you wanted, would you go for the opulent,
mediterranean style like so many seem to go for, or something completely different?
If so, what?
