Exploring the PEST side of Budapest! Sights, FOOD and a day trip to Szentendre! _ Part 2!.
Welcome back everybody. We're still in Budapest Hungary and right now we're hanging out at a
riverside park right next to the Danube and it's still pretty hot. It's like 90 degrees Fahrenheit
so we wanted to hang out in the shade and as you guys know me with the yellow fan,
it's really hot for me. But anyway, let's get to the good stuff. This video has even more sights
of Budapest and even more food. More of the food that you have to try while you're here. It's all
really good and I can't wait to show you. Hopefully you guys enjoy this video. If you do, remember to
like and also to subscribe if you guys want to know when there's more videos coming up. So let's go!
They call these chimney cakes.
Chimney cake? Chimney cake.
What the f***?
We're about to go into the House of Terror which is a museum documenting the effects of the Nazi
and Soviet regimes on Hungary. Going to learn a lot about their history. I'm not sure if they'll
let me bring in my camera, but we'll see how it goes.
These are memorials and portraits of all of the people who have been affected.
We just finished doing the House of Terror museum. It's very highly recommended if you're in Hungary
to visit this because it paints a really great picture of what has happened here in this country.
So Omar, what do you think? I mean the House of Terror explains the
darkness that happened after World War II and how people were incarcerated, being tortured
by the thousands, by tens of thousands over decades after World War II. It was really intense.
Budapest is covered with beer gardens. These are called Kurt.
Their artwork. Graffiti is alive.
Now we're near where all of the ruined pubs are. This one is one of the very first ones
called Simple Kurt. We'll be going in it later.
So behind me is St. Stephen's Cathedral and we're gonna go check out the inside and go to the top.
These things are everywhere.
We went to find food. Alright, what did you guys get? Meat.
How is it? So good. Beef stew. I got the chicken pepper cash. Pepper cash? Pepper cash.
So we were too lazy to walk up the stairs of the St. Stephen's Basilica but we were hungry so we
went to go get some of that food. It was really good. The chicken pepper cash with dumplings was
delicious and so was the beef stew with potatoes that the other guys had. Now we're on the pest side
of Budapest and we're actually right in the middle and right in front of the parliament building.
It's huge. Sorry it's so orange but we wanted to cook our very first
cultural meal I guess and so since we're in Hungary and we ate goulash, the restaurant had a
recipe there on the bottom so we're actually following the recipe to as best as we can,
trying to find all the ingredients but we're going to be making Hungarian goulash today.
So we've already started with the onions and the garlic and now we've got this hunk of
beef shank. Okay, in goes the garlic and the recipe called for lard but we're not going to
do that so we just did butter. Now we're adding paprika and as an FYI guys, we took the original
recipe and are timesing it by four so we could try to cook in batches but we'll see how it goes.
And I add just a little beef. Oh we're also bulking up,
Irene and I, because we're working out so we need a lot of meat. Now we're putting in cumin.
Now we're adding salt. All right in goes the potatoes and now some tomato. So this is goulash
and we made it. It's the national Hungarian dish and it looks and smells freaking amazing.
Try it.
Good success. We're at the Széchenyi thermal baths. It's one of the most popular because
it's also one of the most biggest ones but it's very amazing. Got outdoor and indoor pools.
Today we're very lucky because we're taking a day trip north of Budapest to
we have Omar and our new friend Greg who's going to show us around.
This place is a cute little cobblestone streets where a lot of the artists are
so we're going to explore.
Hungarian pancakes.
There's so many cute cobblestone alleyways to get lost in.
It's swimming in my beard. We're eating pork cutlet with smoked sausage and cheese.
How is it? Good?
We are lucky yet again. We are here in Budapest while they're having pretty much their 4th of
July independence but for Hungary this time. So the entire city is a festival. They've closed down
some of the streets and there's just everything going on. So right now we're on the Buda castle
side and there's like a food festival and all this crazy stuff so we're gonna go check it out.
We're eating langos which is a delicious dough that was deep fried and it's got sour cream.
Now we're just trying to find a good seat in front of parliament so we can watch the fireworks show.
Also we're very lucky because here in Budapest
is my neighbor back home in San Diego who lives here in Budapest and this is Ron
showing us the ways of so... So who's gonna be the first victim?
Okay fine I'll be the first. I think that's the honey one. Just take a sip right? Yeah you can
take a sip. Oh my god I'm scared. Look at Jamie's face. I'm scared. I'm just kidding. Honey coming up.
Can you taste the honey? I can. Yeah. That's good. So you start off with something light and easy
and it's supposed to get progressively worse. Not worse.
That's superb. That's tasty. That's good. I can smell the alcohol from here.
So the first uh-oh happened. We left the Airbnb before we made sure that we got everything like
my water bottle that my little brother gave me so we split up to see if we can, if I can get it
and they can exchange money and then we can meet up before our bus leaves. Oh I can't get it.
We lost the water bottle. We're gonna have to go out without the water bottle. Sorry Ryan.
Okay to add to a little bit more to the drama, Omar has my phone and I don't have the phone so
we already said that we would meet at our station after they exchanged the money so I'm just gonna
go wait there and hopefully I'll find them there in the next 30 minutes or so. I found them. They
found me and they have my phone but now all these coins that we have to spend money on. What are you
doing?
