Skiing “Badcountry” at Bolton Valley, Vermont

On our way to Stowe, and having half a day of free time, we made another stop at a nearby resort - Bolton Valley. The juicy, extensive and colorful essay on their website describing the conditions was - as we soon learned - outdated. We bought our tickets before checking the real situation, and once having them in hand, we learned that key lifts were closed for high winds at the peak. Patrol stopped us from hiking up to the Vista Peak, which had its slopes in perfect conditions, telling us it is dangerous. And that we have to go back down to the base, and hike up different route to a different peak. Thats what we ended up doing. This adventure gained the label - "technical".
