Etude No. 2 was composed by the Italian guitarist, Matteo Carcassi. This is a great etude for the intermediate guitarist. For the most part, the right hand stays the same throughout. The left hand makes use of pivot and guide fingers. A pivot finger is when a fingers stays where it is at while the other fingers move to form a new chord. A guide finger stays on the same string as the hand shifts to different positions.
