A Shetland boy washes ashore on a harsh NZ coastline (circa 1890)
He is the sole survivor from a sailing ship transporting immigrants to Aotearoa. The only wreckage he finds is a chest, but the contents of which helps him stay alive.

In 2022 The Shetland Society of Wellington (NZ) celebrates its 100 year anniversary.

Seth Kelly had often wondered what it was like for the thousands of European immigrants who were shipwrecked on Aotearoa's shores. So he made a short film that showed one of his ancestors, a young Shetland boy, being shipwrecked upon New Zealand's rugged coastline.
