Alois Bauer
(Reutte in Tirol, 23 July 1794 - Klagenfurt, 1872)
Austrian concertmaster and composer. He was born the son of the baker Franz Bauer and his wife Elisabeth (née Pfaundler) in Reutte. His early life and formation remains unknown. As a musician, he was active as a choral director at the church of St. Egid in Klagenfurt (Austria). As a composer, he wrote numerous accessible compositions, mostly for liturgical use. His Christmas Pastoral Mass remains well-known and beloved. He died in Klagenfurt. #ClassicalMusic
