Korean NIGHT MARKET Food in Myeongdong & KOREAN BBQ!

Hey guys, yeah, I just woke up. I am walking around the Myeongdong section of Seoul, South Korea. Of course, I'm here on an Ancestry vacation courtesy of 23andMe. And I'm about to go have some ribs with cheese apparently. Such a nice day. This is why I wanted to stay in like the middle of Myeongdong because it's just stuff everywhere. There's food everywhere. After ribs, I really want to eat bingsu. And yep, this place. I don't know. Oh, I was here last time like accidentally. I need a coffee. I'm gonna go get some bingsu there later. Feels so good to be outside. It's not so hot. Let's go eat some ribs, film a video. The night market vendors start coming out already. Oh, I remember this from last time. This is really good. And that is really creepy. Wow, that's, I don't know. They're not moving. Can a panda and a tiger be friends? I'm looking for this place called James Ribs. Somewhere around here. And their claim to fame is the ribs are covered in cheese and corn. That seemed very healthy and decadent and cheesy at the same time. I think I found a 24 hours place. I'm gonna come here now at like 4am when I'm starving. I'm now up to here with cheese. I don't just want bingsu. I need bingsu. Now this is getting fun. Everybody's out. All the food. Oh, what is this? Pomegranate juice. Tons of food vendors out. The cheese ball guy is out. Oh, super tall ice cream. Yeah, let's do it. I just couldn't resist. How can you resist an ice cream that's the size of a baby? How interesting is that? Blueberry matcha. Not too bad. I know I just had cheesy ribs, but I need this. So let's make it a surf and turf. And never mind. He was asking for $15 for like a little tiny lobster with cheese. I'm too Asian to want to get ripped off like that. God, how awesome this area was. There's so much food. It's perfect weather. It's not hot. It's not cold. Perfect t-shirt weather. This is what I like to do for fun. Just walk around surrounded by food. I know I just ate dinner, but let's see some more. Tried to do this stand because it literally just says meat. Oh, fried chicken. I'm just a sucker for everything covered in cheese today. Anything that's soaked in butter and covered in cheese is not going to taste bad. I think if I ever want to make a living selling food at a night market, whatever it is, I'm cooking. I'm doing it with a blowtorch. Very, very small portion, but they seem really famous because they got a lot of people. I don't know with pictures in the front of their stall. So by association, they must be really good. Let's try. It's just... This is basically fried cheese with liquid cheese with powdered cheese on top of that. So cheese on cheese on cheese. I mean, I had a lot of cheese today. And there's ketchup. Ketchup? That's weird. That's a tater tot. I think that's chicken. That's not what I expected. Oh, that's shrimp. I thought I was getting fried cheese. I feel so healthy now. I'm eating shrimp. What happened? I wanted cheese. I wanted fried cheese. I wanted this to be like such a crazy cheese day. Oh wow, let's keep going. Oh my god, it's the tentacle from the kraken. This thing, it's Yi Qi's cat. This is actually an advertisement for the cat cafe. See, adorable. Creepy. Really cute. Really creepy. No, you are not looking at a cliff. This is actually my bingsu. Finally got my bingsu. Look at it. You can go rock climbing on it. And it's chocolate. Triple chocolate with like walnuts. Yay. I'm turning into a pig today. Oh my god, don't do that. Eat like this all the time. Wow. I think this is a chocolate truffle inside the bingsu. Holy chocolate, Batman. That is really chocolatey. I just fell in the river and really walk as a chocolate factory. Wow, this vending machine has everything. Snacks, gum, emergency stuff. This kid is literally kissing the rib. I love his passion. Or her. Look how traditional this whole restaurant looks. Man, it's like walking into a zen garden. And you can eat here if you want. I'm walking around. I was supposed to go film at a ribs place, but they're closed. I'm in this area called Sanchodong. And this is like a dating area. So everybody walking here is like a couple or a kid or me. This reminds me of Soho in New York. Tons of little chic shops. Tons of little restaurants. It's just a really hip area. So I'm actually... This is a really cool area to walk around. It's about nine o'clock at night. Everybody's just chilling, having a good time. You know, shopping at Hello Kitty shops. And look at this. This is like... This is the creepiest thing ever. Look at that. I mean, a creepy little... I mean, well, it's kind of adorable. But a doll and a keychain. I'm really scared of dolls. Also, there's like a billion dessert places here that... Oh, man. Can I have dessert for dinner? That's cool. I love alleys. This alley looks really fun and explorable. Oh, no. I see an alley. I want to go down it. Except for unless it's dark and creepy. This place always has a line out front. I'm in the Hongdae area of Seoul. And look at this. It's like 12 o'clock. And the place is... Everybody's here. Everybody's here walking around. All the shops are still open. All the restaurants are open. It's like Times Square. Except for, you know, it's actually fun. Because Times Square is like the worst place on earth. Look at that guy's backpack. I mean, I've seen a lot of creepy things in my life. But that door to the Explorer. Let me show you guys. Oh, my God. That takes the cake. A karaoke place. And look at this. I don't know if you guys can see. But that's a bunk. So people who are in the same room with you can climb up there. And then you can watch your buddy sing. And then you can see. You're on the streets. You can see everybody singing karaoke in there. This is crazy. I see this thing. Happy Balloon. And they're taking hits of Balloon. That's the funniest thing. At least I hope that's helium. It costs $3 to suck a balloon of helium. I didn't know you could make money like that. Apparently, this is the best fried chicken and beer place in Seoul. Apparently, this place sells rice ice cream. That's the most Asian ice cream ever. There it is. Rice and mango. Rice ice cream. There's actually rice in there. Whoa. Oh, that's good. You're chewing the rice. That's like a meal. Another helium source over there. I kind of like it. It feels very Korean drama. It's kind of like innocent. You're just like sucking helium. Well, that was some great street food. I'm back in my hotel room. And I think I'm beyond food coma-ing right now.
