While Kanye West was the main mastermind behind the complete transformation of the
former couple's Hidden Hills mansion, amid the divorce, Kim is the one who's staying there to
live. However, the home didn't always look like this. Once upon a time, it actually looked like
a normal rich person's home. And today we're going to take a look at the before and after
of Kim K's minimalistic and sometimes even creepy mansion. In these videos, we don't reveal any
addresses and even though I've done a house tour of my own place, please do not show up at any
private residences because it's not safe for anyone. Kim Kardashian and her children have
been living in the Hidden Hills mansion that she and her estranged husband Kanye bought back in
2014 for $20 million. They then spent an additional $20 million on extensive renovations to completely
recreate the crib into as Kim has described it, a minimal monastery. Considering Kim and Kanye
are both estimated to be billionaires, would you expect anything less grand? These days,
the estate is valued at about $60 million and it covers 3.5 acres of land with amenities like a
swimming pool. And once you see the before photos of the place, I guarantee you won't even recognize
it. Hey guys, it's Kara the Vampire Slayer back with another exclusive house tour here on Famous
Entertainment and this one we are giving you a complete before and after look on Kim Kardashian
West's famed Hidden Hills mansion. Don't forget to like, subscribe and follow me over on Instagram
to chat and now let's get into this video. As I mentioned, Kanye was definitely a big part of
turning this dream home idea into fruition. The renovations took 3 years and he worked with Axel
Vervoort and some other famed designers to make the interiors perfect. The decor is mostly white,
cream and grey throughout, with open plan spaces like the kitchen and common areas.
A source said,
Kim plans on staying at the Hidden Hills house with the kids. This is their home
and Kim doesn't want to move right now at least. Kanye lives elsewhere but is happy that Kim is
staying at the family house. They both agree that the less stress the kids experience the better.
Kanye loves his kids, he wants them to be happy, he doesn't want to fight with Kim about anything.
Despite how cold the mansion may look now, also noticing a lack of stuff or belongings,
before Kim and Kanye got their hands on the place it did in fact look like a normal rich
person mansion, with furnishings. Formerly, Kim's home was a stunning
Tuscan-style compound with vineyards and an amazing detailed pool with fountains.
Just for the basic stats, it's said the mansion spans over 15,000 square feet of space,
with 8 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms throughout. It seems that one of the many things that Kim
and Kanye saw eye to eye on during their relationship was the interior design of
their home, including the step-by-step re-haul. Once complete, their masterpiece took the March
2020 cover of Architectural Digest and fans were shocked at how empty and monochromatic the place
looked. However, the idea behind the crib's new look was purity. Their designer Axl explained,
Kanye and Kim wanted something totally new. We didn't talk about decoration, but a kind of
philosophy about how we live and how we will live in the future. We changed the house by purifying
it and we kept pushing to make it purer and purer. So let's take a look at how pure Kim's home
really is. We'll start with the hallway. While the former hallway featured some arches of its own,
the new hallway looks like it was stripped down. And honestly, it looks creepy in the dark.
Before, there were hardwood floors underfoot and elegant light fixtures overhead. While these days,
well, it's just straight up soaring ceilings and arches on arches. On Christmas, Kim even decorates
with giant q-tips. Kidding, that's apparently supposed to be a Whoville theme. If you follow
Kim on social media, you're definitely familiar with this very empty hallway. And now those wood
floors are long gone and made from a very special Belgian plaster. So special that if something goes
wrong, they can only be fixed by a flown-in crew. Now the stairs. Before, the stair hall was classic,
offering some marble floors and a winding iron rail staircase with some furnishings as well.
Now it's all white colored and even more simple in style. And as you can see, for Halloween, Kim
likes to deck the space out with piles of pumpkins instead of furniture. The railing went from an iron
rail to a solid white banister that encloses the stairs. Before the renovations, the kitchen had
high wood-beamed ceilings and other wood accents, including the hardwood floors as well as more of a
country vibe. Now it features a huge range of chef-grade stainless appliances and the open
concept remains, but it's nearly all the same neutral shade aside from the appliances. There's
even a humongous and deep pantry to store all the snacks. And what I think might be the coolest
feature, Kim has a legitimate walk-in industrial fridge. There's an entire grocery store produce
section in there and like 40 types of cheese. There's a contemporary Japanese art theme as well
with pieces from famed artist Shiro Tujimura. That's my dog's name. In case you're wondering,
Kim has both a for show kitchen and a staff kitchen which is actually used. The living and
dining room. Before renovations, Kim's living and dining rooms were fancy but still warm and
inviting. There were more of those wood-beamed ceilings, a stone fireplace, French doors to the
Now there seems to be nothing but the built-in fireplace which now completely blends in with
the white walls. Sometimes Kenny G pops up in the room to serenade Kim with music,
that's only on special occasions. The rest of the time the room looks empty. The dining room
formerly had features like a crystal chandelier and even a wine cellar and now it just looks cold.
No, I seriously caught a chill after seeing that picture. The living room does have a special
polar bear sofa though which could have cost up to 600k alone. The master bedroom. As for where
Kim lays her head at night, the master suite formerly had rich wood beams overhead like much
of the rest of the home. There was a large window with bench style seat and more. These days Kim's
bedroom boasts an all beige theme with giant bed and room for all four of her kids to come and
snuggle. This room flows right into the massive master bathroom which has a full view of the
Not to mention the master closet now looks like a showroom. We first saw it when Kanye lived here
and used it for his Yeezy fashion apparel but these days that same room seems to have been
replaced with Kim's brand Skims apparel. The master bathroom. Before, Kim's master bathroom
had those typical luxury features like glistening marble floors and an opulent chandelier but that's
all gone now and was treated in for a room that boasts a whole ceiling as a light box. Not to
mention the walls are all glass looking out to a forest of green outside. The tub was custom
designed and big enough to fit the entire family while the other end of the sprawling space boasts
a glass walled shower. You may even catch Kim standing inside fully clothed. The sinks in here
are basically famous because they confused everybody who caught a glimpse of them. As you
may know now, the sinks have these drains that don't look like drains but as Kim explained,
there's a slit for the water to go. While you may think Kim's home is completely void of color,
think again. When we've seen North's room, it's completely pink just as you might expect of a
young girl. One of the other curious rooms in Kim's retreat is devoted just to a humongous
octopus-like soft sculpture. Think giant stuffed animal. This is by artist Isabel Rower and it
seems like the kids love hanging out here too. Not to mention Kim's kids do actually have toys in a
playroom and she's shown it off before so this might be the one space the mansion that actually
looks lived in. Before we wrap this up, let's check out the outside. Back in the day, Kim's
yard looked like a typical Beverly Hills home but it was stunning, including a dining patio,
outdoor fireplace, fountains and an epic pool with water features. But you guessed it,
in usual Kim and Kanye fashion, they completely removed all of that and minimized the space with
just one massive swimming pool. Since they didn't find a jacuzzi they liked,
they decided to just heat the entire pool to a warm temperature. So after seeing the before and
after of Kim Kardashian's Hidden Hills mansion, we can see that her and Kanye essentially created
a brand new home in place of the former one. The mansion is now decked out in off-white plaster
and other pale natural materials, with furnishings kept to a bare minimum. Kim explained about her
The one thing that Kanye and I had in common was our preference for a neutral palette.
I love the simplicity of the design. Everything in the outside world is so chaotic,
I like to come into a place and immediately feel the calmness. However, Kim does say that
during the design process she tried to keep some functionality in the home, further explaining
Kanye would come up with the most borrowed ideas and I'd say this is not normal. We need drawers.
Anyways, that's all for this Kim K house tour slash before and after. Sound off in the comments
down below about what changes inside the home you liked, or which were just straight up ridiculous.
