Giovanni Battista Botti
(fl. 1790-1812)

Italian organist and composer. Almost nothing is known about his life. The only extant reference about him is included in "Storia della Musica Sacra nella già Cappella Ducale di 5. Marco in Venezia" where Botti is described as a "very skilled composer, Abbot Giambattista Botti, a valuable author of psalms and masses, at the present organist and music director in Valdobbiadene". He also wrote keyboard pieces included in his "Elementi di Musica Per Forte-Piano di Gio. Batta. Botti" (manuscript copy 1857). #ClassicalMusic
