Hello guys, welcome back to my channel, welcome back to a brand new video. If you can hear
the washing machine on the go, it is on the go. So apologies for that, I don't know why
I chose to film in the kitchen. I thought we'd just sit down and introduce this vlog
because I came to editing it and realized I hadn't introduced it. I just wanted to come
in here before the vlog gets going and just sort of introduce it, say hello, welcome back,
welcome if you're new here, subscribe if you are, and thumbs up if you like the vlogs.
So this week I went to Manchester with Lydia, so it's been a long time since I've seen Lydia.
So we had a nice girly day date, did a bit of work, went for a nice lunch. And then I
thought I would kind of theme this video around a bit of a charity shopping, luxury on a budget.
So I did go charity shopping, which you'll see in this video, to a nice area and I had
my eyes peeled for the brands, the big brands. So for those of you who are thrifty and like
a bargain like me, then hopefully you'll like that section of the video. And then today
I've just kind of closed off with a bit of housework, a bit of admin type thing. I hope
you're all having a lovely weekend so far, or if you're watching it after I've uploaded,
I hope you had a lovely weekend. Make sure you're comfy, relaxed, cozy, get your drinks.
Hopefully you're still in your PJs, get your candles lit. I'm currently burning my White
Company winter and I really just don't want it to end. And I've got myself a nice Nespresso
coffee. Oh, and then to enjoy with my coffee, see what I did there. I also discovered these.
These are dangerous. I had far too many yesterday, but I'm going to finish these off today. They're
the milk chocolate cookie dough bites from M&S. Oh my God, they're amazing. I actually
vlogged getting them so you'll see that within this video. So without further ado, sit back,
relax, grab a cuppa, grab some snacks, light the candles, and I hope you guys enjoy.
Just at Lydia's. She's over there checking herself out in the mirror. Updating on her
homeware. She now has a homeware account on Instagram, but this smells incredible and
I'm kind of tempted. Is it actual neon oils you're using? Yeah. I feel like that's the
main thing as well as the diffuser. It's getting a good oil. It smells lovely. Have
you seen White Company are now doing oils? Are they? Yeah, I've bought one. I've bought
a little oil and I'm going to try and do it in one of those oil burners with a little
tea light underneath just to see if it works. But I have bought a diffuser, it's just not
a high-end one. So I might try it first and we'll see. But yeah, Lydia's not been in my
vlog in a while. What's your Instagram, Lydia? Tomlinsonhome. Lydia Tomlinsonhome. Yeah,
it's not got the J. How exciting. Forget the J. Forget the J. She's ditched the J. I've
ditched the J. Ditched, ditched, ditched. Right, we're going to go for a nice lunch in Trove
or Groundsmith. Yeah, either or. So it was very hard for me to resist all the pastries
that are sat up there. So I ended up going for French toast. And oh my gosh, it looks
insane. Lydia's just gone to the toilet, so I'm just waiting for her to get back. But
I cannot wait to dig into this. It's got rhubarb on the top, it's crumble. Oh my God. Come
on, Lydia, hurry up.
Should we go in? Yeah. Like a concept store. Oh, I like that. That's nice, isn't it?
I even like the catalogue. I reckon we can take that. So this shop that we've just come
into is called Beaux Concept. I got it wrong, I said B Concept. I'd still consider, you
know, like in a house getting dark walls. I like it. Like even if it's just a feature
wall or just a snug room. It's cute. It's free. I'm taking one. You know, just for research
for the future house and all. Yeah, go on, have a quick flick. Oh, yeah. Yeah, they've
got some. I want to say that's on a budget, however. No. All I can see there is the thousands.
Yeah, it's nice though. They were just saying how everything's modular, so they can do it
custom fit. Yeah. So that upholster that we just saw. Yeah. Oh yeah. So we might be able
to afford. Oh, I can afford this. Yeah, this is £4 too. Like how they've, what do you
call it? Dressed the shelf, styled the shelf. We are spying on these builders. Look at that.
This is ground level here. We have found, is it Fran and Nina that went here? We saw
on their Instagram, they tagged a homeware shop that looked cute. Form Lifestyle Store.
So let's take a look.
Just going to vlog a second here because I've just caught
Lydia. Took a picture on my phone. Why was that even on your phone? Because of Grindr.
She's trying to find the Grindrsmith app. I think Grindr comes up. And I take a picture,
which I'm going to post on Instagram. There's Lydia's phone with Grindr. It's cute in here
though. It's nice. Great Instagram here. I think we're just going to get a coffee here.
Are you getting a filter? No. Well they don't pour over and it's different to filter. It's
different to just pour over and filter coffee. Home sweet home. I'm looking a bit greasy
and my hair's straight up because that's the first thing I always do when I get home. Hair
up. I've even taken my jewellery off. Hair up, jewellery off. I still need to take my
makeup off. And then I'm set to chill for tonight. And timed perfectly with this one
getting home. Have you any wisdom to add? No. Hey, there's a little smile. Are you sad?
Oh, he's not feeling very good. He's poorly. And Tom's never poorly. For you to go to a
pharmacy is a big deal. Whereas if I get a sore throat, I'm hospitalised for three weeks.
Good morning. It is, it's a new dawn, it's a new day and I have, I have decided, I have
decided to do a little bit of thrifting today. A little bit of charity shopping. It's freezing,
that's why my hands are like covered. Oh, this is actually a thrifted top. This was
from a local charity shop and it's from the White Company originally. It feels brand new
so I have so much wear out of this top. This is also another thrifted luxury thing that
I've found. This wasn't a charity shop though, this was a thrift. This was like a second
hand. £150, I got this little Louis Vuitton. So I decided with it being February, I feel
like January is one of those months that people do a good clear out, new year, new me and
all that. And hoping that people have been ruthless and getting rid of a lot of fairly
nice things. Another tip for getting like luxury thrift, like luxury on a budget kind
of, you know, spotting the brands, keeping your eyes peeled for the nice items, is going
to a nice area. So I am actually driving a 30 minute drive away to a place called Skipton,
which is not too far from where I live and it's a really nice town. It's a nice just
day out, to be honest with you. They have loads of charity shops there. It's quite an
affluent area, I feel. So I feel like there's hopefully going to be quite a few good items.
It does mean that prices usually are up and increased a little bit, which is really annoying
because I always wish charity shops were more affordable than what they are. That's one
thing that puts me off charity shopping, is actually the prices aren't that good of a
bargain necessarily.
Overall, it's fun. It's a bit of a treasure hunt. I feel like with charity shopping, you've
got to go with an open mind and expect to find nothing. If you do find anything, it's
a bonus. So I'm actually going via a place called Earby, which has one charity shop,
I think. Well, I pretty much drive through here, so I've just pulled in. It's called
Pendleside Hospice, which is a local shop. I actually did a 10 store thrift challenge
with them. I'll leave it linked. It was ages ago, but essentially there are 10 stores in
and around our local area. So I did all 10 in a day.
So I'm going to stop in there, and then I'm going to head on to Skipton, bring you guys
with me, see if we can spot any bargains and any luxury items, and yeah, let's go shopping.
Another little tip, I always bring some kind of a foldable shopping tote bag. I've actually
spotted some furniture on the outside. I quite like them rattan chairs, £8 each or
two for 15. Definitely don't need them though, but they're nice.
Life is a winding road, no telling where it goes. Driving through days and nights, won't
stop for traffic lights, even if I'm falling down.
So nothing to really rave about in there. I did quite like the little heart-shaped ramekin
oven dishes things. They reminded me of Le Creuset Jupe, but other than that, no. It
is a small shop, and I've bought things from the past there, like furniture bits. So I
thought I'd have a look on route in to Skipton anyway, but no. I'm going to head in to Skipton,
and you know what? I think I'm feeling a Starbucks as well. I do need to pop into Boots and stock
up on some toiletries. Okay, let's get on the road.
So I made it to Skipton. I've just paid for my parking. I remember a charity shop around
here. Oh, here it is. Skipton and Craven Action for Disability Shop. Google that and
find it, because I remember last time it had some real good bargains. So that's my first
stop.
So I'm on to the main town centre now, where I'm probably going to do a bit of a montage
of a few charity shops. I hate talking in charity shops, because they're always so small,
and hardly anyone in there, so they can literally hear you speaking.
It's obviously market day today, which I didn't realise, but I think I'm going to have a halfway
pit stop at Starbucks.
So I'm going to head in to Skipton, and I think I'm going to head in to Skipton.
I heard you say that everything is alright. But how did you know how I felt? You saw right
through me that day.
I was lost in space, but you pulled me down. Once I could see the sky. When you're close
to me, I can't put what you brought.
How you turned everything around.
I'll always remember it.
How you got me off the battleground.
Two shops left to go, so let's see how we go.
Right, back in my car, and get rid of this ticket now.
So, I didn't actually buy anything from the charity shops, and what did I say? You've
got to go expecting not to find anything, and not feel disappointed if you walk away
with nothing.
The thing is, I don't want to buy stuff just for the sake of it, for the sake of these
videos, or whatever, to show you. I'd rather vlog and take you round stores, and only buy
things that I really want and love.
Nevertheless, I do go out, and I do browse. I like to just, honestly, get my step count
up, and just have a wander round stores. I don't have to buy anything.
I did go to Boots, and I got some deodorant, some toothpaste, and then I got this, which
is my all-time favourite lip liner.
It's from Number 7, and it's in Nude.
I kind of like, fill my lip in with it, so I do go through these pretty quickly, I'll
be honest.
I also popped into M&S, so I'll do a little M&S food haul. I got this just for one night.
I mean, these have dates on them, June 2021. These last forever, so even if I just stockpile
this in the cupboard, try this one out, and if I like it, I'll buy more in the future.
They were £2 a pack, Cully Rice. They're healthier alternatives to rice, pasta, or
anything like that.
And then I got a couple of the Balance For You range ready meals, just to have in.
This one sounded amazing, mac and cheese.
These are on 3 for £10.
I also got a beef and chianti ragu.
I did actually get a salad, which I've already had, just a small salad.
And then, I'm still quite hungry, so I picked up some mini Handcrafted Dinky Cheese and
Onion Rolls, just to snack on, en route home.
And then I did also get these, because I always see these, and I've never tried them, the
cookie dough bites, they were an offer.
So, you know me, I love a bargain, so of course I had to pick them up.
I can't cut sugar, and I don't want to cut sugar, I enjoy it, okay?
You know, everything in moderation.
I've had a lovely day out, got my step count up, ready to go back home now.
Oh, I was just about to drive straight through, but someone's just about to park in front
of me, never mind.
Just set off, and I've just remembered there's an absolutely huge B&M here that's recently
been built, so, you know, it'd be rude not to stop in en route back.
So, let's go see what's new in at B&M.
Here it is.
Top tip, top little tip, top little tip, top tip, top little tip, if I can get my words
out, for fitness, always take the stairs and always park further away, like the furthest
way you can.
Not that there's a huge walk over to B&M, but you know, just get us in those extra little
steps.
Right, water, time to shop.
Always get a trolley just in case.
Spot these minkies, £6.99, although I don't need any more.
They actually have a bathroom special pad, and a cute little Valentine's Day one.
How adorable.
Probably the cheapest I've seen this elbow grease, so I think I might get one.
Does anyone know if these Tassimo pods, Tassimo, I don't know how you say it, Tassimo pods,
are compatible with the Nespresso machines, because if they are, to be able to have Costa
Gingera latte at home, I would for sure buy it.
There are even some B&Ms which are double storey.
Let me know if you have one of those B&Ms, and if you do, I'm very jealous.
One of the best things about my new car is the heated seats, but if I didn't have them,
I'd be intrigued to try this, £14.99, because honestly, it's so good.
When you get in the car and it's as cold as it is now, you should put on that heated
seat and literally within like two minutes, it's like burning your bum.
It's the best feeling ever.
We have a space in our living room, which I've been after a round sort of side table
to dress up, and that one's quite good at £10.
And then they've got this one here, the metal in gold, £15.
I am quite set on it being circular, but they do have this double marble and black one,
which is really nice, at £20 in the sale.
Oh, I've just got these two as well.
This Malvern one, black, I like that.
That one's £12, and then they've got this double one in the sale for £25.
This is cute, this little shelf, I've never seen this before.
£5.
They have the misguided range here.
Should we do a sniff test?
Unicorn dreams.
It's not for me, that.
We have a little new-in section.
It seems to be like a blush, part of the blush range.
I mean, I'm not really a fan of the pink and grey, but I know a lot of people are.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, bargain, bargain, find.
Mrs Hinch activity journal.
It's only £6, and it retails for £12.99.
I actually have this and love it.
So you've got, like, Hinchlist, weekly Hinchlist, like that.
And then fun little activities, like Sudokus.
Find the Minky.
Gratitude type things, colouring.
I love it, I really, really do.
So, £6 in B&M.
You're welcome.
They've obviously gone all out with the Valentine's theme.
I'm really enjoying this shopping trip.
There's hardly anyone here.
It feels nice and quiet.
I feel like I've got the shop to myself.
They've got the blush range, these new ones, in grey as well.
I didn't see them earlier.
And they've got little mirrors as well.
What's your colour theme in your house?
Is it like mine, neutral?
Is that one of the reasons you follow me?
My neutral decor?
Or do you guys like a proper colour?
Do you have a theme?
I'm intrigued.
I feel like the vast majority of people will be grey.
Which I don't mind grey, and I used to have a lot of grey.
But I feel like grey can be quite hard with beige and white and creams.
It's got to be like a warm-toned grey.
But yeah, grey is very popular, isn't it?
I feel like Mrs Hinch, we have to thank for that.
Oh god, I've literally just been leaning on this.
And broke the trolley.
They have a huge kitchen, like a farmhouse style kitchen.
That would be nice, £3.99.
This is always a nice little section to look at.
I find it quite, kind of like H&M Home a little bit, with the all black.
And they have all of these bits here, which are very kind of tribal.
The tribal nature range.
Quite urban, I feel.
Urban outfitters, if you like that kind of style.
With the little macrame bits as well.
The hanging macrame.
What they call dream catchers.
And then this is some more of the blush range that they have.
They've got these little baskets as well.
That on its own, you'd never think that was £2.
Like to style up some shells.
Very Pinterest, White Company kind of vibes.
They have them in different colours as well.
And they have these round ones, which I feel are even more so kind of designer inspired.
I've not seen this before.
They have a plant stand here.
And it's £8.
Ceramic planters.
They come as a set of three for £8.
£3.99 for this hurricane jar.
If you have that grey theme, that grey concrete is really, really nice.
And then there's a little baby one that matches it at £2.
I've just seen another one of these hurricane candle jars, £2.
And it actually comes with the little candle and little kind of sand that you can put at the bottom.
Ooh, it feels cold in this house.
I think because I've been out all day, the heating's been off.
You get home and it's like...
Anyway, I've just done some work this afternoon.
And I'm going to head back out.
Because I've missed a couple of parcels whilst I've been out today.
So I'm going to collect them.
And I thought I could do a little unboxing and open them up with you guys.
Tom, on route back, I'm going to stop in.
He is working on his development tonight.
So it's going to be a bit dusty.
Probably dark.
But I'm going to stop in and see how he's getting on.
Because he's going to probably be there most of tonight.
Then I'm going to head back, get into my comfies and have that mac and cheese that I got from M&S.
There must be something in the water.
All right, what are you doing?
Look at your face.
OMG.
Wow.
This is dusty.
Look at you.
Wait, look at what you look like.
Yeah, I know, eh?
And then this is what the other four flats will be.
Two down here and two upstairs.
I think I'm going to leave him to it.
Because it's obviously very dusty.
As soon as he's done this, this is why we're waiting to move.
Is once Tom's got this project done.
Okay, so the first things that I wanted to show you, which I have actually already opened.
They came the other day.
And it was these boots, which I've been wearing quite a lot.
From Moda in Pele.
I also received this from Benefit.
The Brow Zings Pro Palette.
I'm super spoiled with Glossy Box.
I get one every month, which is gifted.
I do have a code, which is Freya30.
Which you can use to get a discount off your first box.
I think it makes it £7, which is a bargain.
So this one, obviously February, the month of love, Valentine's Day.
So rather than open it up, I'll show you a little preview of what's included here.
And then this parcel excites me greatly.
Because La Mer very kindly sent me a couple of bits.
Luminous Lifting Cushion Foundation with an SPF 20.
The Regenerating Serum.
The Cleansing Gel.
Yay!
And then this is my all-time favourite product from La Mer.
It's the Reparative Skin Tint.
They've sent it to me in light too.
One, two, three years of silence.
Six, still another thing.
When my hair gets green, I lose my shape.
I'll still be missing you.
Year by year, out of silence.
No, in my plan, just you.
Right, let's see what this is like.
There's loads of mushrooms in here, which I love mushrooms.
But that's obviously not typical for a mac and cheese.
It's not super cheesy like a typical mac and cheese would be.
But it certainly feels like, or tastes like, you know, a treat.
Today is a at-home admin kind of day.
I've got lots to do.
Lots of washing and cleaning up and tidying up to do as well.
So I'm just keeping it casual.
I'm just going to do a light, everyday makeup and show you guys what I do.
But do you really mean that this is the end?
One, two, three years of silence.
Then four, five, six, still another thing.
Less than ten minutes.
I'm just going to go in with a little bit of the Vichy Dermablend Powder just to set.
Sometimes I get, oh God, this is everywhere.
Shook it a bit too much.
Sometimes I get crease lines here.
I have had filler here before.
It's dissolved now.
But it really worked.
So I would definitely consider getting that done again.
And then also my forehead lines because, you know, I'm approaching 30 now.
Aromakovica.
I never know how to pronounce that brand.
This is the Queen of Hungry Mist.
I just like to pop a bit of this all over.
It's literally just a hydrating mist.
By the way, if you've never tried this, the Febreze Lavender is amazing.
And I love it for the bedroom.
So I actually just keep it up here and use it every day.
Once I've made the bed.
I feel like Mrs. Hinch, but you know.
Not an ad.
Just love the product.
So into my under cupboard.
No, under sink cupboard.
And I've currently got Festive Fireside on the go, which is probably one of my favorites.
I'm sure you guys have seen this a million times.
Pop a couple of capfuls.
I just estimate usually.
And pop some hot water in.
Dishwasher loaded.
Washing on the go.
All I need to do now is make myself a coffee and start getting on with my work for the day.
So I feel like I'm going to close off this vlog here.
I hope you enjoyed this little come thrift with me vlog style weekly vlog.
Be sure to give it a thumbs up if you did like it.
And subscribe for more.
And I hope to see you all in my next video.
Bye guys.
