Street Walk in Bangkok
First time in Bangkok, Thailand
We started off with few days in Bangkok, which is a truly beautiful city! We stayed at Villa Guesthouse by Samsen Rd., which however, we can recommend only if you are looking for a very authentic experience, otherwise spending few Baths more is probably a better idea. The location though was great for exploring the city!
During three days, we managed to see:
- The Grand Palace (cover your shouders and knees, so you don’t have to pay the extra 200 baths, like me😊)
- Wat Phra Chetuphon
- Flower market (mornings are probably better, but afternoon was also worth it!)
- China town
- The weekend market at Chatuchak
- Jim Thompson House
- Muay Thai fight
- Khao San Rd. Night Market
All of the attractions above were absolutely worth it! After figuring out how local buses work, we were able to cover long distances for as low as 7 Baths! Thanks to that, our trip to Chatuchak weekend market was a bargain! Get there early to avoid the crowds is what our guide said, personally I don’t think that‘s possible, since the place is just so busy, but at least we got there before the afternoon heat! From there we took the bus to Siam square, cooled down a little in the surrouding malls and then headed to the Jim Thompson House, which we were so glad to discover! Personally favourite attraction in Bangkok!
PRO TIPS:
- get a data SIM card, will make your life so much easier!
- download Grab taxi app, it’s local Uber and saves you the hassle with tuk-tuk’s bargaining
- get an idea which buses go to your hotel and attractions you want to visit beforehand, such a money-saver!
There are few things we didn’t manage to squeeze in our short program, such as a boat trip, or the National Museum, however, we plan to fix that next time! Comment bellow, what else to visit!
