Good morning everyone. Good morning everyone. Good morning everyone. Welcome back to my
allotment diaries. My name is Emma. These are my allotment diaries. I would love for you to
subscribe to my channel if you are new. The most exciting possible thing has happened.
We've got a little tiny pumpkin, a little baby boo. I think this is a Jack the Little One because
it's yellow and it's probably going to go orange. The archway is just doing brilliantly for the
pumpkin. Where's the rest of them? Potatoes. I can't believe there's been potatoes sitting
under there. That is absolutely incredible. This is officially my new favourite thing to grow and
I will grow these every single year from now on. It seems like things got a little bit out of hand
last night. I hope that's not blight. Bleeding hair coat. I hope that's not blight.
Oh you're having a lovely time today aren't you mate, hey?
I think we're off. He's still on. Look he's having a munch.
I've devoured all of them. Totally game over for these things.
These are some of my non-successes. I've got a few. Take them home and we'll have a little
investigation. Six months of work for this. I'm joking guys, it's not about the harvest
at the end of the day, it's about the fun that you have along the way.
Ow. But I'm not afraid of the rain you see. I'm fearless when it comes to water from the sky.
So my god it's really coming down now. They said it's going to stop.
They lied, they lied. It's getting shed. Where the heck has summer gone guys? Where has summer gone?
Why break the habit of a lifetime, let's just whack it all in.
I shouldn't have done this. I knew it from the second I was doing it, it would win against
everything. It would win against everything that I believed in at this plot. And I just got so
bloody desperate for sprouts. They've come back in. He thinks it's his home. Get out, get out,
get out, get out. I've never been so scared in my life. Bloody hate this.
You know what? Yeah, not everything's growing like it should at my plot and I wish things were bigger
and I wish that things were doing better and I was getting more harvests. At the end of the day,
the plot is so much more than that to me. It's about what the plot does for me
and what nature does for me and my relationship with nature has been up and down. It's like a
roller coaster to say the least. Having my own allotment plots made me appreciate nature a lot
more than I ever used to and I now find myself sitting here watching the birds and thinking,
actively thinking about planting more flowers for pollinators and it's something that I've
never really thought about before. Nature has just been all around me but it's almost like
it's been invisible to me. It's opened my eyes to a whole new world, a world that has been here
the whole time living alongside me that I've just never really noticed. It just fills you up
and it just makes you forget all the worries and things in life and it really is like it
makes you realise your place in the world.
I hope you enjoy these vlogs that I'm putting out. I know they're a little bit sporadic and
stuff but I'm doing my very best to get as many out as I can in between writing a book
and trying to do social media and also trying to raise a family which I always forget to mention
it's the most important job that I've got is having my family. But yeah, I'll try and get
as many up as I can and I hope you enjoy them. If you do, do subscribe to my channel,
leave me a comment below and I'll see you in my next vlog. Thanks so much for watching.
