How To Install Vinyl Floor Tiles as a Backsplash // Unique Backsplash for Our RV Kitchen Remodel

Adding a backsplash for your RV kitchen is a quick way to bring the room to life. A backsplash will add color and decor to what are typically otherwise bland wall space in an RV.

While there are all sorts of tile options available, we decided to use peel and stick vinyl floor tile (check out "Floor Pops") that we cut to size and then glued to the wall using liquid nails.

Because we were replacing our kitchen counter, we decided to add the RV kitchen backsplash to the wall before we installed the counter. And while this was not necessarily an easy task, we were certainly happy that we did add the backsplash to our RV kitchen.

How to install a backsplash in your RV kitchen:

First, remove any wall decor or other items including window frames. Then begin to tape tiles against the wall where you plan to install them.

Use paper bags to create a template for any areas that may need to be custom cut - such as around windows, stove vents and other obstructions.

Then lay this template over a full vinyl tile and cut the tile to size before taping it to the wall.

Once you have the tiles taped to the wall, double check that they fit exactly how you would like them before permanently securing them to the wall. When you are satisfied with their placement you can then mount them to the wall.

You can use the peel and stick backing to secure the backsplash tiles to the wall.

But for a more secure attachment we recommend using liquid nails (thus why we made sure to double check that everything was in its right place before we permanently mounted it!).

Then put anything back on the wall you removed, or would like to add such as magnetic knife racks and other decor.
