Hi Everyone: This DIY is a collaboration with the talented nail artist, Diana De Almeida. This collaboration is based on the movie "Maleficent." I designed a "Mistress of Evil" necklace and Diana created Maleficent inspired nails.
"Maleficent" is the untold story of Disney's most iconic villain from "Sleeping Beauty." A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman with stunning black wings, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army of humans threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land's fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal - an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the king of the humans and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom - and to Maleficent's true happiness as well. (Movie synopsis was not written by me.)
I am so excited to watch the movie! Especially becasue it focuses on Maleficent herself and why she is the evil person that she is.
And I hope you love my Maleficent inspired jewelry!

Hi everybody, it's Michelle Barada and welcome to my latest DIY.
This one is a collaboration.
I have never done a collaboration before and I'm doing it with a really cool channel.
With Diana from D2012nails to come up with a cool nail and DIY jewelry look inspired
by the new Disney movie Maleficent.
To check out her nail art tutorial, I'll have a link posted in the description below.
And I'll be teaching you how to make this really cool vial necklace like a magic potion.
So let's get started.
What you'll need for this project are little glass vials, E6000 glue, clear glue, glitter,
scissors, pens, tiny eye hooks, jump rings, chain, rhinestone chain, charms, silk ribbon,
wire cutters, and needle nose pliers.
First you're going to take your vial, your little bottle, and you're going to take your
eye hook, a tiny, tiny, tiny little eye hook, and what you're going to do is you're going
to put it in the cork like you're just going to screw it in there.
When you're done, it's going to look like that.
First you want to take your E6000 glue and you want to put some on a piece of paper.
Makes it easier because E6000 kind of squeezes out fast out of the tube.
Then I'm going to use a chopstick and I'm going to take the glue and I'm going to put
it all the way around.
Okay, got that all the way around there.
Now I'm going to take my rhinestones and gently lay it on here.
And when I'm doing that, I'm going to gently pat and I'm going to snip off and it should
look like that.
Now I'm going to take my pliers and my jump ring and I'm going to add a little wing charm.
Remember when you're adding a jump ring, one of the most important things is to open it
side to side.
Don't open it like a claw.
It will never go back together.
Now on your computer, or you can do this by hand, you want to write Mistress of All Evil
because that is what she is.
And I have this in about a six font.
I cut it in a little rectangle and now what I'm going to do is I'm going to tear it so
that it looks old, so it will look something like this.
Then what you're going to do is you're going to take a pen and put this on the pen, put
this down on the paper, and all around it on the edge, you're just going to put pen
all the way around so it's going to kind of look like an old piece.
You can use any color you want.
I'd say gray or black or brown, so it looks like it has burnt edges and it will look something
like that.
Put a little glue right here and then I'm going to put my little tag right there and
kind of rub it along and then it will cover the whole area where the glue is.
Now what we need to do is we need to put the glitter inside so it looks like a potion.
And what I do is I take a little piece of paper and I make it into a funnel.
Take your funnel, open up your cork, and put the funnel inside like that.
Now take your piece of paper, fold the paper in half with a crease.
This helps for when you're using your glitter to be able to get it back in your container.
And you're going to take your glitter and I'm going to pour my glitter in here and you'll
see it's going to get all over the place.
Now you take your cork, put your cork back on.
Look how cute that looks so far.
Now since you've folded this right here, you take your glitter, put it back in the fold.
Now you can easily put it back in.
Now you want to take your ribbon, and this is a silk ribbon.
You can use any color, but I'm using kind of a deep, deep blue.
And I cut about an inch.
And then I'm going to thread that through my eye hook and I'm going to just tie that
in a knot.
It's about an inch and a half.
Okay, now I have that.
And then what I'm going to do is I'm going to just cut it down so it's about a half inch
on each side or whatever way you like it.
And then you want it to be kind of rough looking too.
Doesn't that look cute?
Now I'm going to take my chain and I'm going to thread my chain through the eye hook.
And now you have your necklace.
Just add a clasp and put it on.
Also if you're wondering, the really cool sculptures in the background were made by
my son Tristan.
I hope you loved today's DIY.
That was super fun.
