Ice Fishing Brookies & Tigers! Tarp Camping & Hiking With Dogs & Pack Goats!

This was a great little wilderness adventure with the dogs and goats. You'll see how relaxed Ash was. She loves being out in the wild! All the animals did great--I even had the goats carry some of my gear. I can see that they are going to be awesome assets on these trips for years to come. On this trip they only carried seven pounds each but, wow! It made a huge difference in my pack weight. It will sure be nice when they can carry it all, allowing me to focus on video work. I'll also be able to hike much further each day. Ash is getting up there in age as well, so the goats may need to carry her gear as well before too long.

Fishing was a huge challenge on this trip! This little pond is quite narrow with a fairly large stream feeding through it so I hoped it would have less ice than what I found. The Ice was too thin to risk too much time out in the middle so I had to get creative to open up a fish-able area. It was a ton of work, but I caught some beauties!
