Building Our DIY Pull Out Sofa Part 1 // Class C RV Remodel on a Budget
Building your own DIY camper couch is a great way to maximize your use of space as well as to add another layer of functionality to your sofa.
With much of the RV remodel completed there were a few big projects left to accomplish. While many DIY camper couch builds start with a blank space, we had to be a bit creative in problem-solving with the space we had.
In this episode, we'll show you how we designed a custom couch for our camper that would cover up our furnace and the battery bank and inverter we planned to install inside our RV.
We upgraded our battery bank to include 3 AGM batteries and installed a 2000-watt inverter in the space beneath the couch. For this we built a custom box that fit beneath what would become our pull-out couch.
We also decided to run our solar panel wiring into our charge controller in this space, so planning the perfect DIY camper couch was even more important.
While we hoped to finish the entire couch build in this episode, you'll see how we worked to overcome the design challenges we faced in building our DIY camper couch.
By the end of the video, you will see that everything is starting to come together and in the next episode, we'll finish the couch build and have one major check in the box done as we are close to wrapping up our camper remodel!
