Pierce Brosnan and his wife have been living a relaxing life in their stunning oceanfront estate in Hawaii. Considering they love where they're at, it makes sense that the actor would no longer have any use for his luxury Malibu estate. However, after listing it at the end of 2020 with no success, Pierce has taken this property off the market. He refuses to accept anything less than 100 million dollars for the custom Malibu beach home. Pierce Brosnan is an Irish actor and producer best known for his work portraying secret agent James Bond in the Bond film series, starring in 4 of them between 1995 to 2002. He and his wife Keely Shaye Smith may have met in Mexico in 1994, but they spent most of their years together, living at their properties in Malibu, Hawaii and even in Pierce's native Ireland. However, the Brosnans relocated to Hawaii full time where they keep a multi-structured compound overlooking a beach on the north shore of Kauai. Despite buying a traditional, modest home in the Santa Monica area of LA for their sons to live in, Pierce and his wife have been trying to sell off their California real estate. Most notably, his lavish estate in Malibu. After placing the stunning home on the market in fall 2020 and failing to entice any buyers more recently, Pierce has taken it off the market. Reportedly the actor won't accept anything less than 100 million dollars for his custom mansion. At the end of 2021, Pierce Brosnan and his wife decided to pull their Malibu mansion off the market after trying to sell it for over a year. It seems the former 007 agent was facing one of his most difficult assignments yet, and didn't want to accept anything under 100 million for the custom built home. Pierce listed the house in September 2020, which he and his wife Keeley commissioned themselves to be built. The residence boasts a Southeast Asian style in its architecture, which was reportedly inspired by the actor's time spent in Thailand shooting Tomorrow Never Dies back in 1997. We can see the influence in the hardwood build, teak flooring, as well as the wraparound balconies. The couple purchased the land in two separate transactions in 2000 for a total of 7.4 million dollars. And the 1.2 acres the home is situated on is big for the Broad Beach neighborhood of Malibu. This high profile area is home to other actors, including the likes of Danny DeVito and Dustin Hoffman living nearby. Pierce's mansion spans a total of nearly 12,500 square feet, but it took almost a decade to finish. Dubbed Orchid House, the home is made up of 5 bedrooms and 14 baths, 9 full baths, and 5 powder rooms. But until it was live and ready, the couple lived on the mid-century ranch home that already existed on the property. Afterwards, they would decide this structure was far too small for them, knock the old home down, and move into the custom much larger mansion that was designed by architects Ross and Ralph Anderson. The compound is decked out with foolproof security, and hidden behind a towering wall as well as some bamboo, while the wooden gates open to the stone motor court and double car garage. Every detail was thought out when designing and building Pierce's mansion and matching pool house, and the finest craftsmanship went into it. Apparently the colour of the home's green clay tile roof was inspired by the mountains that rise to the north and east, and that's just one of the unique details. The main mansion is built in a U-shaped style around a central courtyard entrance that's lined with palm trees, while the entire property sits on about 120 feet of direct oceanfront. Inside Pierce's former abode offers an open layout for the most part with scissor-beamed ceilings and walls of floor-to-ceiling windows that look out to the amazing ocean views. The main living and dining room is combined into a large multi-use space, sharing a fireplace, which is one of 7 in the mansion. This sprawling living space also leads out to a waterside terrace through a handful of glass doors. The gourmet kitchen boasts double islands, top-of-the-line appliances, another fireplace, and of course, a casual sitting area that's full of natural lights. The glass sliders here open up to an alfresco dining terrace that's also windshielded. The main floor of the pad holds two large guest rooms, and upstairs, a third that can be used as either a staff quarters or even a home office due to its private entry. Up on the second floor you'll also find the main attraction, Pierce and Keely's former master suite. At 4,000 square feet of space, this room is larger than many homes on its own, and offers everything fit for a Hollywood star. Like two fireplaces, his and hers bathrooms, and two dressing rooms as well. There's also a spacious and romantic ocean view terrace, and nearby, a library and art studio. Other features of this custom and fully stocked home include a movie theater, 200 bottle climate controlled wine cellar, fully equipped gym, a music room, and a Japanese-style spa with travertine walls, hot and cold pools, a steam room, and dry sauna. The property's pool house is two floors with more views of the ocean, as well as its own bathroom, a lounge with a bar, and two fireplaces. Outside, there's a sprawling stone patio that spans the width of the property with a couple of glassed-in areas for outdoor dining, so like it was explained, you can have your outdoor dinner party, and your napkins aren't blowing around. There's also a stunning saltwater pool with waterfall, and the estate has its own private beach too. Seems that because no one bit at Pierce's 100 million dollar price tag, she's not budging on, it seems we'll have to try another day. And for now, the property has been taken off the market. While there are little to no photos existing of this next property, in 2019 Pierce picked up a single story residence in the Santa Monica area of Los Angeles reportedly for their grown up sons to live at. Makes sense, because with Pierce and Keeley living full time in Hawaii these days, they can come visit their sons in LA and have a place to lay their heads. The actor paid just over 2.9 million dollars for this modest spread in the College Streets neighborhood of Santa Monica, and inside it spans 2,319 square feet of space. Records show that the chic and turnkey home had three bedrooms, an office, and three bathrooms throughout. Situated on a tree-lined lane in a desirable area, the property was built in 1941, but upgraded and freshened up plenty in recent years. Some other features include a detached two-car garage, as well as a covered front porch, and a charming patio area at the back. Inside, the formal living room is said to offer a stone-faced fireplace and bay window that looks to the front yard, as well as wooden floors that flow into the family room and dining room. The home's galley-style kitchen boasts stainless steel appliances and a small window-lined dining nook. Despite the home not being massive, both of the guest rooms are spacious and one offers a fitted walk-in closet and luxe en suite bath. The master suite, on the other hand, has a bonus office, dressing hall with skylight overhead and the most updated bathroom in the house. In this main bedroom, there are also French doors that open right out to the backyard, where you'll find a small lawn, as well as a massive patio to dine outdoors or kick back and relax. Now, over in Hawaii, Pierce and his wife might not show off much of their home, but they seem to be living their best lives in paradise. The couple lives in a stunning oceanfront estate in Kauai, Hawaii, and Pierce has spoken about it, saying, We have a wee cottage out there on the north shore, and it sits on five acres and also has said For Keely and I to come here years ago and have some small dream of a getaway for our children, for ourselves and our future, this is truly a magical space. The couple bought the property back in 2002 and had been hopping back and forth between Hawaii and their longtime Malibu mansion for years. Since their home is right by the beach, they often go for swims together, and they also enjoy snorkeling, exploring their private forest and laying on the beach. Since trying to offload his mega mansion in Malibu, Pierce has aimed to make this Hawaii spot his permanent and only residence. While hanging out on their porch, Pierce and Keely can look out at their backyard, which is basically their private beach, also surrounded by palm trees and clear blue skies. Pierce also enjoys spending a ton of time in his art studio, working on his paintings. This cabin-style structure has room for his easels, and he can work out and map out his ideas here, while the doors of the space open right out to the nature. Earlier this year, Pierce shared a peek into his private studio, and of his art, posing in his studio surrounded by his paintings. Fans loved his personal posts, with one saying completely obsessed with the black and white one. My favorite I think of all time. Beautiful abstract self-portrait. A second said, and another fan even likened him to Picasso. Well we can clearly see that Pierce Brosnan is loving his life in Hawaii with his wife, and who could blame him?
