We've got two crazy plays in the crease
that could have been goals.
Were they goals?
Did they go in?
We'll find out.
And then we've got a bunch of highlights
from the tournament that shall not be named.
This is things you missed
that you never planned on watching.
Welcome back.
All right, we're going to the NLL.
The season kicked off.
The San Diego Seals versus the New York Riptide.
And the Riptide are down four goals
with two minutes and 40 seconds left.
But that's all right.
Cut it to the middle.
Bam.
Top right.
That's one.
15 to 12.
135 left.
All right, little pick.
He's going to go in.
Little in.
Bam.
Top left.
Goalie's getting lit up.
He's tired.
All right, two goals left.
35 seconds to go.
That is a really cool play.
A little dipsy, dipsy, do, do, do, do.
And it's in.
All right, one goal to go.
And the game is tied.
There's 11 seconds left.
They're going in.
Passes it to the middle.
Makes the save.
It bounces in.
The goal is off.
It's Moorings.
They say, no goal, no goal, no goal.
And they're like, what do you mean no goal?
We tied the game.
This was incredible.
It's the best start to the season ever.
I got to watch the replay.
Somehow the goalie makes that save.
Really good play.
And then he falls backwards, faints,
because I told you he's so tired.
They scoop it up and it goes in.
What I did was I took the overlay here
where you can see that he knocks the net off.
The guy scoops it up and tries to wrap it around.
Now it kind of goes in, hits the post,
falls on his chest where it lands on his chest.
Now that is in the goal.
But would it have gone in if the net didn't move?
I don't even know if that's the correct question.
I overlaid the net where it is.
So this is where the net would have been
had the goalie not moved it.
And no, that shot would have not gone in
if the net didn't move.
But can the goalie do that?
He's tired.
He's out of breath.
He just knocks the net off.
Some goalies do that.
Sometimes they get called for it.
Anyway, the referee says, you know what?
We don't want all this hassle.
Whatever we called on the field is the call.
That's no goal.
Six seconds left.
The Riptide are like, what?
And all the Seals got to do is run it out.
Goalie sets a pick.
He's running.
And they've won.
The Seals seal the victory.
And the coach is like, **** me.
Jesus Christ.
Okay, onto the tournament that shall not be named.
The U.S. has a corner kick.
They poke it in.
It gets headed out.
It's bouncing around.
The new defender who just got put in the game,
he comes in.
He great ball to the pass.
To the pass, I say.
Centers it.
Little flip shot over the goalie's head and in.
And the U.S. is one goal away.
Look at this replay.
Look at the ball movement.
Just crazy.
The fans are screaming.
They're so excited.
Let's go.
We're back in this.
Oh no.
They gave up a goal like 10 seconds later.
And then they lost and everyone got sad.
Like so sad.
Let's go to ice hockey now.
I found this crazy play where they think it's gonna
wrap around so the defender goes wide.
It comes right back to the middle.
Guy grabs it.
Doesn't get it in.
Tries to put the rebound in.
It's bouncing around.
Holy crap.
Where did that go?
It's one of those plays you watch in live time.
You're like, hold up.
Just pause the game because I got to see that again.
But in hockey, they got to play it out
and make you wait until you get to the replay.
Eventually they get to the replay and it's insane
that this puck did not cross the goal line.
Watch it in super slow-mo.
All right, there it is.
It's out.
Slow it down.
So the goalie gets there with his blocker
but it comes through.
Tries to go glove.
An amazing effort but it's actually the defender
who at the last second pokes it out.
So this game goes into a shootout
and UMass Lowell just has their way with the UMass goalie.
That guy comes in, goes up top.
This guy, nothing.
Goalie kind of like forced him to make a move.
That's a nice move.
The goalie's like, what am I supposed to do?
That's a good one.
Watch this.
I'm going to go this way, Syke.
You're going to go that way.
I'm going to go the other way.
I've got you.
So he needs to score this and goes for the fancy stuff.
He's like, whatever.
If I'm going to be the hero, I'll be a cool hero.
If not, I'll lose.
UMass Lowell's like, okay, cool.
Cha-ching, cha-ching.
That's the first time they beat them in a while, I think.
The orange team had a set piece right out to tie it
and they go with the trickery.
This cool play.
Watch the two orange guys split
and then he just gently puts the ball between them,
grabs it on his right foot, sets him up.
Left foot kicks it in.
This was a cool goal.
That was my favorite goal.
I forget what sport this is, but,
or where they're playing, but that was nice.
Our whole office gathered around to watch the shootout
of one of these games.
And I got to tell you, it was pretty electric.
They did choke.
The one team choked against the other team.
The one team that choked, they're out.
The other team can't talk about it, but they advanced.
Speaking of advancing, this white team did not.
Harry Kane has the shot.
He misses it.
It would have tied the game.
Instead, it makes this kid cry
and he takes it out on his jersey, bites it all up.
That's all I've got for things you missed
that you never planned on watching.
I plan on doing these once a week.
I want to do them on Friday, Fun Sport Friday.
We're trying to hire people to help me do them
because they're just a ton of work,
but it's a bunch of little small things
that you probably wouldn't click
if it was a breakdown all on its own,
but I can gather them up and just, you know,
keep you informed on the ---- you don't even care about.
