Bokkake is the comfort food of Nagata-ku, Kobe. Bokkake is a salty-sweet dish in which thin strips of beef are cooked together with konnyaku (devil’s-tongue jelly). In Nagata, people eat bokkake with udon noodles or on a bed of rice. Bokkake has been very popular among Kobe people for a long time, along with 'Okonomiyaki' and 'Sobameshi'.
