I have already arrived in Vilnius Vilna the Lithuanian capital
It's been more than three hours driving it's been a bit tiring but okay fine
I checked into my room at the hotel which is very central
Then I'll show it to you just in case I forget
And I ran here to see the views for the sunset because there's very little time left
So nothing else I'm arriving at the Three Crosses which is a very well-known monument here in Vilna
And there are some really nice views of the city
And besides that it's just getting dark now so let's catch the sun during the sunset
Las Tres Cruces are well worth visiting
Not only are the views very beautiful but it's also a super quiet area
because it is not the typical monument where there is barely any space
But there are a few meadows around where you can lie down and relax
There isn't much people
And above all this whole area is super beautiful
It's all natural like a little hill right in the middle of the city
It takes 15 minutes on foot from the center from the cathedral area
I'm back in the hotel room
He went to eat at a place that the receptionist had recommended called Etno de Varas
It is in a restaurant area behind the university district and the restaurant is very good
It's traditional Lithuanian food so that's what I was looking for
I asked for something super weird first I can't remember the name
But it was a normal Russian salad essence just with beets quite a lot of beets
After having a prime rib that was also super tasty
Although for my taste I like it a little less done
This one is a little pink and I like that there's a little more blood
Then for dessert a Napoleon cake which is like a type of layered pastry with cream and such
And a jam on top it was very good
Then well I've eaten I've had a pretty good dinner and nothing else I'm already back at the hotel
I'll show you the room quickly and then I'm going to bed because I'm exhausted
This is the room as you can see it's quite good
Here is the desk the bed and then the bathroom with the shower enclosure and so on
It's very good that's for sure I think I've never been in a room where there were so many things to buy
Because the usual thing is the typical mini-bar that has it
Then here in this small closet you open it and there's a minibar here
So far so good
The point is that it's not just this anymore but then you look here above
And it's a traditional Lithuanian drink 4.50
I come here to the café area and say hey good guy make me a coffee
But they already ask you to sell yourself and no one knows how many 3 euros
Here for coffee come on the beans are brought from Colombia themselves
3 euros plus here 3 euros
You even come to the bathroom and here you have creams and things like that
But then they give you little conut bottles like 5 bucks 7 bucks
A new day has begun and I have left the hotel
I've been going around and around here in the center
because normally Google Maps shows you where you park
And if not I usually pay attention so that it doesn't slip away
And I don't know why I assumed yesterday that he would park where he wanted and I had no idea
Then I had to retrace the steps I took yesterday
but there were many turns I didn't know
In the end the point is that here in Vilna as you can see there are white stripes
Where I live white lines mean
you can park without any problem
You have to pay where there are usually blue and green lines
And there's also no sign here that says you have to pay per minute
Well nothing else the song
they put on me I don't know if it's visible there
Well it's from yesterday at 11 and the rest is all in Lithuanian
What I have absolutely no idea about
is I think the fine is 40 euros
I guess that's what's marked there I
don't know what this 56 is and I don't know how to pay for it
But anyway obviously
I mean I'm not paying for this crap
I am now in front of the Vilna City Council the Vilniaus Rotuse
And the town hall doesn't have much else besides having a neoclassical facade
But what's interesting here is if you come in the afternoon on a weekend and such
Because there are like small bars here
and then there must be a pretty cool atmosphere here
because this is a pretty large square
Here everything is like a cobblestone
Here in Vilna there are quite a few churches of all kinds
They are all Catholic
And large small
But what is the center is not as medieval as Tallinn for example
But it has already become a much more normal more modern city
It's just that things like the asphalt here
is still gravel and many little souvenir stalls
That's everywhere
But I have the feeling that in this city I'm not going to teach you as much as I could have taught you for example in Tallinn
Because within what is possible since being more normal doesn't have as much originality or uniqueness to offer
But it's very enjoyable to walk around as I've told you
Then anyway I still recommend that you come
It's not for staying a week but okay just for a day or something
I think it's a very cool city
And behind me is the Vilnius Cathedral
That's the main building here of the entire medieval center
The square is huge and there's usually a lot of people here with scooters and bikes
Then there is usually a good atmosphere in the afternoons and I suppose even more on the weekends
Well after a few hours wandering around Vilnius we're going to take the car
If they haven't given me any more tickets
Tickets don't bother me much because I don't plan to pay them
But I hope they didn't put a boot on me or towed my car or something like that because I haven't moved it
Thinking that it's included in the rate they've already charged me 40 euros for a full day of parking
I think it's pretty good And let's
move on to the next point which is a castle a few minutes from here in Vilna
Trakai is a small village 30 minutes by car from Vilnius and it is most known for its castle
Very important is the Trakai
Castle It is in the middle of an island in a very funny beastly lake
My idea was to take the drone out to film this from above but with this wind it's not happening
I think I'm going to have to stop taking aerial shots from here
I am driving from Betonia which is where my trip in the Baltic States ends
Where do I catch a flight from well another one
And he stopped halfway near the border in a place that is more of a curiosity than anything else
What is the name of the Cross Hill
A bit like the one in Vilna isn't it
There are thousands of crosses on the Hill of Crosses it's amazing
It seems the Pope has come and all that he was even here
But here I don't know if they started putting crosses one after another
And it has become a kind of I don't know like a tradition
Does this remind you of anything If you've been to Japan or if you've seen my Japan videos
There is a mountain in Kyoto that has a giant torii where the mountain begins
It is called Fushimi Inari Taisha
And there are thousands of torii gates along the entire mountain
Oh like entries like doors you're passing through right
And it's exactly the same concept
Then it reminds me a lot of this
And here they are I tell you thousands of crosses that people will come to place their own
Because some of them have messages set and everything
And then it's all like that thing right
It has become a tradition and then everyone comes here to plant their cross
In fact at the beginning there is like an area as always of souvenirs
Where you can buy souvenir crosses small crosses
You can even buy larger crosses on which you can embroider you can write down your wish
And you plant them here in any of these places just as they are
