You're planning on building a luxury home. How do you find and vet a custom builder?
Knowing what to look for will save you time, energy, and money. Today I'm going to give you
the three key factors that will give you confidence in selecting your custom builder.
First things first, communication, honesty, and integrity. These are non-negotiable. When you
first meet a contractor, ask these simple questions. How do you build? Will I see all the invoices?
How often will I see you? When will we meet during construction? The sincerity and confidence that a
contractor answers these questions will immediately give you a picture into who they are as a person.
Next, know your vision. Building a custom home is going to consume a great amount of your time.
Your builder needs to understand your vision to bring your dreams to life. Take the time to put
these goals down on paper so you can communicate what you want to accomplish. They show your
builder who you are and your vision for the project. Lastly, verify what you have heard.
Evaluate the builder's current work in progress. Ask the builder to see a job site in the next
few days. Look for job site organization and cleanliness along with other typical standards
a subcontractor should follow. And if you don't know what those are, be sure to check out our
other video on job site standards because what you observe will reveal how the builder will
approach your project. These are the three most important factors to find and vet a custom builder.
I believe building your dream home should be one of the best experiences of your life.
The excitement should build from the first design meeting culminating in the day you move
into your dream home. If you enjoyed this video, leave us a like. If you have any questions,
