Beth Harmon || Toxic (The Queen's Gambit)

What's your name, girl? Beth Harmon. Shit. Someday you're gonna be all alone. I'm fine being alone. So you need to figure out how to take care of yourself. Would you like to play me a game? So can you tell the readers of Life how it feels to be a girl among all those men? Girls do not play chess. Are you sure you wanna do this? I'm sure. Close your eyes. I don't suppose there's anyone you're afraid of? I plan my head. In your head? On the ceiling. How old are you? Don't tell me. Don't answer that. It would just depress me. Are you with a boy? I was last night. Oh, Beth. I've got so much anger in you. Anger clears my head. Anger is a potent spice. Can you see the blood? Breathe it. It takes my body out of my head. Chess isn't always competitive. No, but you play to win. The one thing we know about Elizabeth Harmon is that she loves to win. Genius and madness often go hand in hand. You think I'm crazy. It felt good. Again. Jesus Christ, Harmon, you're humiliating my work. So what do you do to that poor guy you played in the third round with? Which poor guy are you talking about? That's the truth. Damn. Do you mind? No. Oh, it's official now. You are out of your ******* mind. Maybe. You always drink this much? Sometimes I drink more. You know, if you keep doing this, you're gonna end up washed up. Timer 21. You think that's gonna be me? I think that is you. You resign now. Me, because you need me to be. It's what family does. It's what we are. You got the wrong child. I don't even know if I'm good enough. I'll tell you the truth, Abigail. You are a mob. Get it for you? Go beat him. And you know why you're the best players in the world? Because I played together as a team. You really are something. You know that? Sick!
