I'm very excited for today's video because I'm going to be sharing with you all of my
favorite places to visit in Seville, Spain and also a couple tips and tricks along the
way that I think will help make your trip a little bit easier.
So without further ado, here are my favorite places.
First, I would definitely recommend going to the Plaza de España.
It is a beautiful plaza, there is stunning architecture, there's a beautiful fountain
in the middle, and there's even a cool little water feature that you can do rowboats in.
And I didn't opt to do that because it is 6 euros for 30 minutes, however I did see
some people doing it and it looked like a lot of fun.
Also it's a great place for an Instagram picture, so this was kind of our first stop when we
went because we just wanted to kind of get a feel of the city.
And it has a great atmosphere, there's always some buskers around, just kind of adding to
everything.
Another added bonus for Star Wars fans is that part of episode 2 was filmed there, it
was the setting of Naboo.
I don't know a ton about Star Wars but I think that would be really cool if that is something
that you're into.
While you're in the area, I would definitely recommend taking a stroll through Maria Luisa
Park.
Not only is it beautiful and it will provide you with some much needed shade, but there's
also a bird lady right outside of the park that you can pay 1 euro to and she'll give
you food to feed these birds.
And I'm going to be honest, it's really scary but it's also pretty fun, it gets some really
fun pictures and videos.
Next, probably my favorite place in Seville is the Metropole Parasol or Las Cetas.
You have to pay 3 euros to get to the top but that includes a free drink once you're
up there, so that's wine or soda or juice or anything like that.
And then it also includes a free postcard from the gift shop.
I would definitely recommend going up there at golden hour or sunset because the views
are unbeatable and the lighting is incredible over the whole city, it is something that
cannot be beat.
Next is the Real Alcazar.
This is the official residence of the royal family while they are in Seville.
I don't think they actually stay there just for security reasons but it's still really
beautiful.
There's stunning architecture and some of the Game of Thrones film there.
Again, I'm not really sure the details of that but you can definitely do some research
and probably find tons about it.
To get into the Alcazar it is 9.50, however if you're between the ages of 17 and 25 then
you can get in for only 2 euros which I think is a great deal.
I'd also recommend getting the audio guide, I think it's 5 euros and you carry it around.
That way you can just kind of know what you're looking at instead of just wandering aimlessly
through the Alcazar.
A must-see in Seville is the cathedral.
You can't miss it but it's definitely worth taking a browse around inside and going up
the tower, it's called the Giralda, and it's quite a walk up there so just be warned and
it is very hot but it's a wonderful view of the city and you get to see where the bells
ring from.
General admission to the cathedral is 8 euros, however if you are a student you can get in
for 3 euros.
A side note about the cathedral is it is kind of in the middle of the city center so make
sure to stick around and visit some of the shops and restaurants.
I will get into restaurants later but you definitely need to check out everything in
that area including the gelato shops.
One of my favorite things that we did in Seville is go to a flamenco show and this was so much
fun.
It was just really...
I felt so immersed in Spanish culture when we went even though it was kind of a touristy
thing to do.
So we opted to go to the Museo del Ballet Flamenco and I think I completely butchered
that but basically it's a museum of flamenco dance and it was such a fun experience.
We heard that there was some restaurants that have flamenco shows but we just couldn't really
nail down a time or when we should go or if there would be dancing and music or just
music so we opted to go to the museum and tickets were 20 euros but we got the student
discount for 14 euros.
So let's get into the most important part about visiting anywhere and that is food.
So I have a couple restaurant recommendations for you.
The first one is Bar Palayo and we actually stayed in an Airbnb right above this and we
were like we can't live above it all week and not even try it out.
So we went and the food was pretty good but my favorite part about it was the atmosphere
as well as the sangria.
It was to die for and it's just a really beautiful place and I would definitely recommend checking
it out.
One of my favorite meals...
Actually my favorite meal in Seville was from El Caminante Andaluz.
I hope I pronounce that right.
I'm going to write it on the screen if not.
But it's kind of out of the way so we had to take a taxi there and we were the only
Americans there so if you don't speak any Spanish at all I would definitely recommend
kind of looking at the menu beforehand.
Luckily I had a friend with me that could translate.
But we got salmillo al whisky y patatas and I would fly back to Spain right now just to
eat it again.
It was so good.
And it's also very cheap so our cab there actually cost more than the food which isn't
saying much because it was very inexpensive but that just kind of gives you an idea of
the price.
So if you feel like that's a little too far out of the way I would recommend going to
Taberna Coloniales.
It has the same meal so salmillo al whisky y patatas and it's not as good I will be honest
but it's pretty good and it kind of makes up for it if you can't make it all the way
to the other place.
So the Taberna Coloniales is right next to the cathedral so it's really easy to find
and really easy to access.
Lastly, you have to go to 100 Mataditos.
I hope I pronounced that right.
It has 100 sandwiches and they're pretty small.
They're about this big I would say but they're delicious and you can try as many as you want
and you just have to go kind of for the novelty of it.
It's so fun.
A little bonus tip about restaurants in Spain is that they don't bring you the check automatically.
You have to ask for it and that is la cuenta so if you ever need the check at a restaurant
say that.
Okay, last thing that I'm going to mention is some places to travel nearby so if you're
in Spain for an extended period of time I would recommend checking out Ronda.
It's kind of a very historic town and I actually went with Viator and I really enjoyed my tour.
We did a little wine tasting, we went to a bullring and it was really fun.
Another place that we went is Malaga and we just wanted to go to the beach and the beaches
in southern Spain are not anything to write home about but they're pretty good and we
just kind of wanted a day to sit and relax so we went to Malaga.
We only spent half of the day at the beach so we ended up going to the Picasso Museum
which was really fun because Picasso actually grew up in Malaga so we got to see a lot of
his earlier work.
Okay, so that is all the information I have for you.
I've actually written a blog post with all of this including links and ticket prices
and everything so I will link that below as well as a packing list for Spain so check
those out and please like this video if it helped you and subscribe if you want to see
more videos from me.
Alright, I'll see you later.
Bye!
