My name is Rachel from That Chic and I'm here with Disney Style to do a really fun DIY with
you guys.
So today I wanted to do a nod to Cinderella and also a nod to St. Laurent because I love
me a good glitter shoe.
So St. Laurent's runway had kind of this 60's vibe mixed in with glitter and I kind of wanted
to do a modern take on Cinderella mixed with something I would wear nowadays.
So what you'll need for today's DIY, light blue pearlescent powder, Mod Podge, a brush,
white glitter, and a pair of shoes.
I picked these shoes up from the thrift store.
They're about $6.
I like the shape of them.
I like that they're classic and they have this retro twist which will be fun to add
glitter to.
Step one, mix the Mod Podge and the pearlescent powder.
So I'm just going to pour some of the powder out because it'll be easier for me and I'm
just going to dip the brush straight into the Mod Podge and just smear it all over the
shoe.
No need on being clean on this because we're going to clean it up later.
I chose this effect because I like how pearly and iridescent it looks underneath and it
looks even better with the glitter on top.
And I'm going to work on one side first just because it'll be easier for us and not get
paint everywhere.
Step two, while your Mod Podge and your powder are still sticky, I'm going to take the white
glitter and I'm just going to sprinkle it all over.
Do not be modest.
And then some parts I'm going to pat it down.
There might be some spots you're missing or the glue became dry so I would just get the
brush and dab some more paint onto that and then add glitter onto that.
Make sure that the shade is exactly what you want it to be once you start gluing and adding
the powder because once you add the glitter on top, it's hard to add color on top of it.
I'm going to go ahead and do this on the other shoe and I've separated my workspace from
one side glitter and the other side painting.
So once you have the other shoe, just shake it off.
Also I like to add a little bit of hairspray.
The hairspray is going to help from glitter falling out.
And just like that, you're done.
I hope you guys enjoyed the video.
Thanks so much for watching.
Bye!
