Decorate for Christmas 2022 with me in Part 3 of my Christmas decorating series. We are decorating my loft today, putting together Christmas DIY gingerbread ornaments, decorating with Christmas vintage decor finds and more! I hope you enjoy and get a ton of Christmas decorating ideas🎄
Welcome back to my channel.
In today's video we are decorating my upstairs loft for Christmas.
This is the first time since I've done my big makeover up there that I will be adding
in Christmas decor so I'm just really excited.
I love the dark paint on all the furniture up there and I think it's just going to be
so much fun to dress it up and make it magical for Christmas.
I also just got back from the Joann sale.
Everything's been on major discount up to 70% off actually after Black Friday.
So I got this mug for $5.
How cute is this?
I love all the stars.
Just so cute.
The other thing I got from Joann's is this Santa pillow that I'll be using upstairs in
my loft as well.
I love just how he looks a little vintage and just super unique and cute.
He was half off if I didn't mention that already.
I also went by Hobby Lobby and I got these little miniature wreaths and I'll be using
these on my daughter's hearth and hand dollhouse that's in our loft also.
She plays with it all of the time and I thought it would be really fun since I'm already decorating
for Christmas up there if I decorated her house for Christmas.
So it's going to be a really fun video.
I also just got back from Revive which is a medical center that my friend owns and I
wanted to share with you guys what I've been doing.
A few of you have noticed that I have lost some weight and I have been on semaglutide
for I want to say maybe just about two months now and I'm down 15 pounds.
I feel amazing.
My energy's up.
This has been something that I've been struggling with for such a long time.
It was my goal at the beginning of this year to drop the extra weight and just get back
on track.
I tried it all and semaglutide has been just a life-changing experience for me.
So it helps you lose weight by basically regulating your blood sugar so it helps reduce cravings.
Food stays in your stomach longer so you're full for longer and you also just I don't
know I feel like I'm naturally eating less if that makes sense and I'm just so thankful
that I was able to find a way to get this medication because I was prescribed it by
my primary doctor and with insurance it was over $1,000 a month which just was not realistic
but getting it through Revive I was able to get a three month dose for just $699.
I did speak with their medical professional before I was prescribed to make sure it was
right for me and that was a $99 consultation so it's just been absolutely amazing.
I couldn't recommend it more.
They also ship all of this as well so if you're not local you can do a telemedicine call with
the medical professional and then they can ship your prescription to you for that price.
If you are local you have to check out Revive.
I have been just feeling so much better since I started going and investing in myself.
So this has been working so well for me.
I wanted to share with you guys what I've been doing, how I lost the weight, and also
support my friend's small business.
So I will have all of the information down below if you do want to check it out.
Now let's head upstairs and start decorating.
I will say the only downside I've noticed since having dark furniture is how much dust
it shows.
So before we get started I'm using my favorite all-purpose cleaner for this time of year.
It's the Mrs. Meyers Pine Scent and I'm just going to go in and wipe away all that dust.
Now I'm taking one of the real pine garlands that I found at Trader Joe's.
I love to get at least one of these every year.
They smell so good and I do find that they last all season as well.
So I'm just laying this one on the fireplace and fluffing it out.
I love these warm white twinkling lights from Target.
I think they were only $5 and the best part is that these come on a green wire, which
is perfect.
They blend in really well if you want to add in lights to garlands like this or wreaths.
Any kind of greenery you want, the green wire is great just because it blends in so seamlessly.
One of my favorite things about the holidays is baking.
Today I'm making gingerbread salt dough ornaments.
I'll leave the exact recipe that I used below, but by adding cocoa it helps get that really
dark color.
We'll be decorating them with white paint to look like gingerbread snowflakes and little
gingerbread houses and then adding them to the garland and I think it's going to look
so pretty.
If you do plan on making these right when they come out of the oven, make sure you poke
a little hole in them so you can hang them up if you want to.
These are also really fun if you want to make your own little DIY gift tags.
I made sure to make a few extra for my kids to decorate.
They love doing that and then I love using them as little gift tags as well.
I saw another salt dough DIY that I'm making with the kids.
I'll probably share that one over on my Instagram so I'll leave my handle here if you want to
follow me on Instagram as well.
My next video I will be decorating the front porch for Christmas.
I've been waiting for it to somewhat cool off a bit more here in Florida before I tackle
it out there, but I have some cute ideas so make sure you are subscribed so you don't
miss that one.
I love making easy DIYs like this.
I think it adds such character and a personalized touch to your decor that the store-bought
stuff just can't do.
This star is one of the very first Christmas decorations that I bought when I had my first
apartment.
It's made out of this really pretty mirror and metal material and I just love finding
new ways to incorporate it in my Christmas decor every single year.
So I know these tapered candles are impractical, but I love the look of brass candlesticks
with real garland on a mantle and these candles are the no-drip kind so at least I don't have
to worry about a ton of wax dripping down on the fireplace.
So even if I don't end up lighting them much, I just love the vintage touch that these candlesticks
add.
And then for the shelves, I'm going in with a lot of white pieces that will pop against
the black and then earthy textures like wood and glass.
This wood piece actually used to be a candle and now I just like the look of it and I'm
adding in a few jingle bells that I picked up at Hobby Lobby just to tie in the Christmas
theme.
When I found these lanterns thrifting, I knew I wanted to style them with bottle brush trees
for Christmas and I always get asked where these are from and I have searched high and
low to find what store these came from and cannot find them anywhere.
So if you recognize them, please let me know, leave me a comment down below because I would
love to be able to link them for you guys.
This gold tray is another thrift find that I've been loving for Christmas.
It came as a set of three and I used the other two downstairs.
They are just the perfect pieces to create a little Christmas vignette.
I couldn't find a space for this rocking horse downstairs, so I knew I needed to incorporate
him somewhere up here.
This is another one of my favorite pieces that reminds me of Christmas past and just
adds in that vintage look that I'm going for up here.
To attach the mini wreaths to the house, I'm using these glue dots.
You can find these at any craft store.
I found mine at Hobby Lobby in the candle section.
They came in a pretty big pack and I found them to be so useful for so many little random
projects like this.
So if you like to craft and DIY, these are definitely a good thing to keep on hand.
My daughter was so excited when she saw her house all decorated for Christmas.
She loves to play with her little animal figurines in here and it's just the sweetest thing ever.
Okay, so here is what it looks like at night and this will probably be one of the only
times I actually light these candles, but I love the way it turned out.
I hope you enjoyed this video.
Thank you so much for watching and I will see you next week for my Christmas front porch
video.
I hope you all have an amazing day.
