How to unclog a toilet with a plunger - 2 simple steps

In this video, I demonstrate how to unclog a clogged toilet using a plunger.

A clogged toilet is a very common, yet often frightening, plumbing problem that almost everyone has to deal with at some point. If this is your first time unclogging a toilet, just follow these 2 simple steps to get a full flush.

All you need is a plunger and some elbow grease with the proper technique to unclog almost any toilet in a matter of minutes. I explain the procedure and demonstrate how to use the plunger correctly!

Usually, you should use a large plunger to best force the clogged waste out of the pipe. At the same time, this type of plunger is very easy to fit into your toilet, making unclogging the toilet even easier.

You put the plunger into the toilet, push down, and pull up continuously and evenly until the water drains out most naturally. The time depends on the degree of congestion. Usually, each time it takes about 15-20 seconds, it will bring the best results.

💡NOTE: To improve efficiency, soak the plunger in warm water before using it to soften it and help the toilet achieve the best results.
*👉TIP: There are several ways to unclog the toilet without a plunger. All use stuff that is available in your house:
- Vinegar and baking soda combination: Add one cup of baking soda to the toilet bowl. Then slowly pour the vinegar into the toilet until the mixture fizzes.
- Wire hanger snake: Straighten out a wire hanger. Slide it down the hole to dislodge and break up the blockage.
- Plastic bottle: Use a 2-liter soda bottle. Wear a pair of rubber gloves. Fill the bottle with hot water. Place the bottle into the bowl and squeeze it to shoot the hot water. The heat and the pressure might help dissolve the blockage.
- Dish soap and hot water.
