Al Janoub Stadium a tribute to Roger Milla an authentic legend of Cameroon Seventy years old now the man who participated in the Indomitable Lions the one most remembered that 1990 World Cup A lively atmosphere in the stands a moment for the national anthems El de Lanati Switzerland who was struggling in this match against Cameroon It was the first action in which Jan Soma had to intervene The second set piece is by Carl Toco Ecambia the first by Brian Embeumo What was a tremendous meeting A very good approach by Robert Song's team He was finding spaces opportunities like this one with Chopo Motín The Bayern striker was about to score one-on-one forced by Manuel Akanji's recovery Correcting his own mistake As you can see the first few minutes where he was a protagonist also with the ball the Cameroonian team that was trying to be the first African side He was in the penalty area in this World Cup edition The ball slipped away from Jan Soma immediately after Martin Hongla's shot Watch how he reads the space and receives the pass well Moments of uncertainty for Murat Yakin's team Especially throughout the entire first half See here how Chopo Motín will enable Collins Fye's run The center for Carl Toco Ecambi It was providential that Wittmer intervened which he did very well Few Swiss approaches Nicol Bedi's header goal following a corner by Rubén Vargas Another one this time to Kanji gets closer The newly signed Manchester City winger took the last shot of the first half After passing through the dressing rooms he gave Switzerland a twist in the match Good ball from Xhaka there he appears with plenty of space Remo Freula And Shaqiri finds Brehlen Bolo He did not celebrate The reason is that he is a player born in Yaoundé the capital of Cameroon Despite representing the colors of a Switzerland that was taking the lead on the scoreboard In the third minute of the second half Victoria who would ultimately become very important for Lanati considering that she is part of the same group as Brazil and Serbia In this group G which is surely the group of death Eric Maxime Choupo-Moting was progressing He had to do it all by himself He ended up arresting Jan Soma Despite taking the hit Cameroon failed to respond No way to arrive by force There's Samuel Eto'o president of the Cameroonian Football Federation The responsible party that Rigo Bertson is the coach of the Indomitable Lions Alex Son's uncle the former Barcelona player Currently playing in the Djibouti League Middle of the second half when the match broke down Even Rubén Vargas had the second chance but André Onana intervened with his shoulder Prevent Lanati's second goal in the consecutive action The delivery from Shaqiri This time it's Anguissa who takes the goal from his boots Abrel wrapped up Un remarkable footballer from Napoli former player of Villarreal Here comes Rieder from the side Inside inside for Seferovic Nico Lankulu appears Switzerland had 2-0 on several occasions It was a goal that came closer than the possible 1-1 that the Cameroonian team was aiming for He was returning to a final stage of a world tournament after missing the one in Russia four years ago They were claiming Vincent Abouakar's and Gael Ondoua's hands And here they are as the ball accidentally hits both of them The Argentine panelist Facundo Tello Figueroa made no decision Actions had already taken place at the end of the match There that ball was a battle and Haris Seferovic was fighting for it Jean-Charles Castellet appeared The footballer from Nant to prevent the 2-0 In a match that had nothing more to offer And it reaffirmed Switzerland as a team to be taken seriously in this Group G where both Brazil and Serbia start with a bit more favoritism But in the end he managed to achieve that 1-0 victory against Murat Yakin's team
