To check AirPods battery, you must ensure that your iPhone and iPad have Bluetooth enabled to connect to AirPods.
You open the lid of the AirPods charging case and then bring it close to the device. At this point, the device screen will display a connection option. Click Connect to connect to AirPods.
Once connected, the headset's battery status and the charging case will be displayed as a percentage.
Note: To check the AirPods battery
- You must place the charging case close to the device, and the headset must be in the charging case for the battery status to be displayed.
- It may take a few seconds for the battery percentage to be displayed after you open the cover of the charging case.
- If the battery percentage needs to be displayed, try closing and reopening the charging case cover.

In addition to the three ways shown in the video, you can try the following.
➕ Check AirPods battery life when not connected to any device
To check the battery status on the AirPods case, you scan through the status light on the charging case cover. The status light will be on the front of the case for the wireless charging case and in between the two earphones inside the case for the wired charging case.
When you put the headset inside and open the charging case cover, the light will show the headset's battery status and vice versa. When you open the charging case cover without the headset, the light will show the battery status of the charging case.
The status light is only green and yellow. If the LED is green, the battery of the AirPods is more than 50%. The headset's battery is less than 50% if the light is yellow.
➕ Check the battery of Airpods with the Apple Watch
On Apple Watch, swipe up to get to the dashboard.
Tap your watch's battery life.
If the AirPods are in your ear or the lid is open, the battery life of each earbud will appear on the Apple Watch screen.
Scroll down to see the numbers for each side of the AirPods and case listed.
Press Digital Crown to return.
➕ Check Airpods battery with Siri virtual assistant
You activate Siri by saying "Hey Siri" aloud, then telling the command: "How much battery life is left on my AirPods?" or "Hey Siri, AirPods Battery Life." Please wait a moment; Siri will read it aloud or show you specifics about your AirPods' battery life on the screen.
