양태오의 한옥집 구석구석을 공개합니다! ep.1
Hello I'm interior designer Yang Tae-woo
Welcome to our hanok
Please come in
From now on I will thoroughly introduce and explain every
corner of our hanok that I have carefully maintained for 7 years
The moment I first set foot in this hanok
I thought "This hanok is so beautiful "
It's amazing how it can reach the heart like this
Such a very special emotional value that I felt
So I ended up moving into a hanok and
I think I've become its biggest fan
Every hanok has a very special name called
"dangho " which is the name of the house
The two hanoks where
I live are called Nongsowon and Cheongsongjae
It means a house that is filled with talent
The condition of the hanok was very good
The previous owner who lived here
was someone who greatly respected the value of the hanok
You have preserved it very well
So I also want to preserve this hanok well
We focused a lot on not compromising
the original shape when we
renovated it Therefore in cases like this door on the exterior
It was the door when this house was first built I also
heard that explanation And in
the corners of the hanok house
These small spaces seem to be
very numerous By using all these
small spaces as gardens it's possible to get closer to nature
It seems like these points of connection are being created
Sometimes there are too many bugs which can be a problem
And so passing through the garage
There's another chance to meet her
The reason I've become particularly fascinated with the hanok is
It's about being able to encounter nature in every space Especially
when it rains a lot during the rainy
season and when it snows in winter
This traditional house really
suits you well That's what I was
thinking Through this square it's
as if the snow is falling just for me
Sometimes I get the impression that it's raining
And in the morning when it snowed during the night
Inside the square frame that no one has stepped on snow
is gently falling and when I
drink tea while watching it
The luxury of a hanok is something that makes you think "Ah this
is what it means " The view of
this house that I like the most is
This is the view from where I'm standing
This is the living room
It's the main hall space
I'm using this space like a lounge or a living room
The interior has a slightly different feel than the outside
I tried to give it a more modern and
contemporary feel Let me
explain each of the props
This product was one I bought when I did
an internship in Amsterdam the Netherlands
I really loved the
designer Mariselle Donders I
greatly respected him so I
was able to work with him
The small clay sculpture made by her daughter was
scanned in 3D and then printed at a larger size
This is a product gilded with gold
You all know very well that I respect
and always study and read from books
It is a chair designed by Luceurbozi
Many people find it looks uncomfortable
I really feel very comfortable Such leather
details and other elements
that support the angle
These flowing forms add a
certain rhythm within the space
It also seems to add a casual and comfortable feel
It's a product from Pornasetti
The design by Diopenti with
illustrations by Porronetti
This can be considered a very special bookshelf
And I really like mixing and matching
I really like placing old and new things
together as well as
eastern and western things
For example next to Porcelletti's bookshelf there are Korean folk paintings
from the Joseon Dynasty and in the
intersection where disparate elements meet
I think about what kind of beauty is created
The mirror seems to have a certain romantic sentiment
The color of the mirror has
become a bit darker and I think the
way people and objects are
reflected in it is very beautiful
Light and shadow vary according to the mirror and
there are various artifacts that create such effects
It seems to add a very deep richness to space
This door behind also has a mirror added on top of the original hanok door
Just by adding this mirror
It can create a different atmosphere
If this hanok were an old mansion
If it were an old hanok
They were probably pierced through
There was probably a convection current that allowed air to flow
Unfortunately there is a
building right behind this hanok
So I used the mirror again in order
to spread something into the scenery
By incorporating this section it enhances the storage
function and also helps many
people with interior design
Air conditioners considered as a factor in one room are also
included in this This space is used
as a love room in the love house
The sunroom was used as a study for the
gentry and as a space to welcome guests
Of course it was also a living space where you could sleep well
I also read books here
We use it as a space that welcomes guests
In this small space
it gives the feeling of completely filling the space
Furniture often fits very well
That's why we emphasize those square-shaped spaces
A spotlight is hanging from the center of the round table
We tried placing two types of chairs there
This product is called an artichoke lamp
From the shape of the artichoke we enjoy eating
It is said that they were inspired I have a great
interest in handicrafts and such things
So I also collect various works
He is also very interested in classical
art and he collects classical art as well
One of them is a relic from the Gaya and Baekje periods
Old objects are usually found in the ocean or
Or I'm buying it from antique shop in Insadong
I've been collecting these cups for a while
It's already been more than 10
years At first it was very easy
to get but it seems to be getting harder and harder to find
It seems many people are beginning to appreciate the beauty of pottery
Isn't it really modern
These cups here even some made as early as the
4th or 5th century
still possess this modernity
I always feel really amazed when I look at them
Especially these cup shapes
are very popular these days
It seems similar to the Astilbe Villa brand
And this work is by Julian Opie
Everyone knows it well don't they
Many people have asked me
Ask how to do a hanok-style interior
But rather than following the hanok style
I focus on the emotions that a hanok embodies
I think we need to pay more attention to it
It's not that we are praising something just because it's old
What is it that touches our hearts from that old thing
But I think these old wooden
pillars are really impressive
It feels stylish yet contemporary
In fact nowadays it's hard to say what is beautiful and what isn't
It seems like an era where you can't say such things
So it's a bit twisted and split apart
This is an era where imperfect things can appear more
beautiful Therefore you too can use such old materials
Use the remaining wooden pillars
from the hanok in your interior design
It makes me think that we could bring that kind of charm into our homes
Isn't this also really fun
I also think I would like to buy a small snack
that fits perfectly in here and put it right here
I have a very small wine cooler of my own
Isn't this product really cute
It's a stand that can
hold books and various accessories
I placed the crystal there Because it's said that
the crystal purifies the
space But this small stand
It's a hose a hose for watering
Then heat the hose and shape it into a circle
They cut it in half
Therefore this is how one such piece of furniture is completed
It is the work of Dutch designers
Also the doors of my hanok feature artworks made
from various colored wood
panels called wood veneer
I've placed them here and there
It's the same here
This is how these patterns end up appearing
These small details hidden in various places
It seems to make the house a bit more fun
This space is used as a tea room where friends drink
wine and where family members
gather to drink tea and chat
In fact what makes this place
special is that both walls
are made of windows making it look even more beautiful
This place is most beautiful
in the early morning When the
light begins to come in the room gradually becomes bright
This space really shows its true value
And a lot of wood is used here
Actually when I use wood
It's better not to use it so sensitively
After all wood comes from nature
They have the idea that they will somehow blend in
I don't take sides regarding the color and patterns of the tree
I tend to arrange flowers naturally
When arranging flowers at home
I mainly use the trees in our yard a lot
This ginkgo tree here
We cut a branch from our yard and stuck it in
I think it's good that it's in the yard
Even if you don't go out of your way to buy flowers you can make use of
what you already have at home Those who grow trees
indoors even if they don't have a garden
Cut off a small branch or
just use the leaves and you'
ll bring a very fresh and stylish charm into your home
It seems you will be able to hear it clearly
I think the greatest beauty
of the hanok is this layering
Through this space looking at this
space one by one opening up revealing
something new that is the flavor of
such a space It exists in this hanok
My guest room is here
This is a space that guests can use when they visit
Many people refer to it as a guest room or a guest house
It seems that
we get a lot of inquiries because of this conversation
People ask things like "How much would it cost to stay there "
It is not a guest house in that sense it is a space
prepared for my friends acquaintances and family members
This is a product developed in collaboration with the
Savoy brand which originates from the Savoy Hotel in London
We are very grateful that the London design
was also chosen as one of the top 10 designs
This bed is inspired by Korea's moon culture
This way the sides are slightly folded
We made a very cozy headboard Our relatives
and our nephew also really like this room
I can see the courtyard right when I wake up in the morning
and the garden next to the flower bed is also visible
So they often said it was really great
The curtains were all made to order for the space
We added these small
details By inserting linings
one by one the lighting remains hidden from view
Inserting into such wooden beams or columns
It looks like they're sitting here reading books magazines and watching YouTube
Being outside rather than inside
I seem to really like living by sitting on the tami
Before the hanok moved in I didn't go out much
I didn't particularly like outdoor activities
and I disliked being in the sunlight
It seems that since the hanok came it has become very close to this courtyard
I will also show you another garden behind it
This is also one of the places I really like
Flower walls are made by arranging tiles in certain patterns to decorate the walls
This is an area where trees have been planted
The view from this room is really beautiful
Because I'm not good at gardening
We have planted flowers that bloom and wither on their own
It would be great if you could come visit us in the spring when you have the chance
You can go up to the hanok using these stone
steps This space is my personal study
